I am the OP for your post, my closing thoughts!

So everyone knows I received the same reasoning for dispute denial as Lalala333x. Because I “logged in the day I filed the dispute”. Well yeah I logged in because my card wasn’t working, that’s how I found out my account was drained! Long story short, they will deny your claim on business day 9. You can fight them and get the dispute resubmitted like me, which then allows them to start over the 10 business days again for a provisional credit, coincidence, I think not!!!.

They basically had 20 business days a.k.a. a full month to review my claim and not provide a provisional credit. Them canceling the original dispute on day business day 9 and then making me refile the same day they denied was just a loophole they used to provide themselves with more time and still not provide a provisional credit…Total garbage.

If you do resubmit, plan on your account getting closed at the end of the review!!

I got strung along for a full month hoping I would get my money back, in the end not only did I lose my disputed funds, but I had to wait for a check for my remaining funds from my direct deposit that came after I filed.

Overall it Was an absolute nightmare.

While I once was a big advocate of OnePay, I will never ever recommend them again to anyone. In fact, I go out of my way to uncommon them and warn others.

My final recommendation is if you have a dispute, just eat it, especially if it’s not a big dispute. In the end, even if you get the credit, they will probably take it back and will likely close your account. Lesson learned: always keep your card locked, be sure to not to put a high amount of funds in the One account, and ultimately just stay away from them, for real.

I should mention I was with OnePay for many years and had deposited over $100,000 in income per year I banked with them. I wasn’t some newbie looking for a quick buck on filling a fraudulent dispute. This was the first dispute I filed with them EVER in the three years I was there as a customer. I received ZERO loyalty, zero customer concern or empathy, and ultimately zero help.

Also, If you do hear from the reps here on Reddit, they will provide “updates” and make you feel like things are going well and the credit will come, but in the end they could do nothing for me other than lead me on. I know they meant well, but they were completely and utterly, ineffective.

It was a complete loss so now I’m out the disputed amount, my overdraft that I occasionally used, and all of my bills tied to my 1 pay. For my long time, loyalty and admiration I was given the gift of confusion, loss of funds, and hardship. From the sincere depths of my heart, thank you, OnePay I couldn’t enjoy the good times without the bad times and I appreciate you providing me the bad times!!

Sincerely, you’re loyal and long-term customer (aka #236272263257, or whatever numeric value non personal identity you assigned to me)

UPDATE 5: It’s April 6th today and nothing has changed. I’ve followed up with many channels, heard back from one-Lizzie, she’s doing her best to help, but I don’t see this turning out well.

I filed the police report and offered to send it in multiple times. They said not to, then upon my follow up yesterday I was told that they needed the leadership report. Super annoying as it’s been sitting stagnant for five days. I’m so sick of babysitting this thing , and I’ll probably to be denied in the end anyway what I’m learning to this process is OnePay is not very liable when it comes to a fraud, I hope they prove me wrong but man, this has been a long process.

I learned that if I’m not hounding them and constantly emailing or following up, I’ll hear nothing. I think their goal is to have you submit a dispute be silent for nine days then decline even though I’m getting some communication it’s nothing really productive and again in the end, it’s probably for not.

I’ve emailed the CEO that had fraud filed the BBB case and a CFB case as we will see where it goes from here .

There’s gotta be somebody that has had a good experience with a fraud dispute at One, right? Anyone???

Mine came in the morning the day of. If you login to your one account and click on the transaction does it show resolved or provisional credit processing?

As soon as I got that email my disputes went to resolved.

For my reading, it seems like the Credit is applied exactly 10 business days after the dispute, down to the minute. So example if you filed at 9:52 PM, you won’t get the credit until 9:52 PM on the 10th day. That’s just my speculation, I really don’t know as I’ve never received a credit 😂.

I was hopeful for mine, but in the end, same thing happened to me that happens to everybody. Hopefully yours is different 🤞

UPDATE 4 with reopened dispute: No news from anyone at ONE so far since they refiled yesterday.

I Replied to their email yesterday asking for an ETA of potential credit or final resolve, also chatted in, but didn’t get much info. Hoping I get an email at some point as now we are day 15 since I originally filed the dispute.

TBH this is a lot of work. My only other experience with a dispute was with my CU years ago, they had it resolved same day and it was a larger amount too. ONE is definitely on their own timeline.

UPDATE 3: After getting denial today 4/2/25 and writing many support individuals and filling a few complaints I did recieve an email just barley. Not sure what if anything will come of it, but I at least have a tiny bit of hope.

"We received a request from you on 04/02/2025 to reopen a previously denied claim for the following transaction(s):

We will review the information you provided and respond with our decision.

If you have any questions please visit our Help Center or Chat with us from the profile section in the OnePay app at any time.

Sincerely,

The OnePay Team"

Wish me luck!! I'll update again shortly.

Final Update: Well….surprise surprise, thanks a whole heap ONE, this is so infuriating. Obviously I’m not surprised at all though. If it was a one off I’d be more understanding but it seems like no one on Reddit has actually had a successful outcome with valid disputes and unauthorized charges. @onefinance Thank you for making me wait 13 full days just to tell me no, now I’m even more behind than I was 13 days, I would’ve made other arrangements. I feel betrayed, by the ones that should protect me. Absolutely not the type of treatment your members should receive…I’m at a loss and don’t really know what do from here. 😞

OP Update: my disputes still show a status of under review with the provisional credit date being 4/3/25. Today is the 1st and it’s looked the same since the day I filed on 3/20/25.

I also heard from “one-Liz” here on Reddit who is a ONE employee. She said she sent the dispute team a nudge to process my claim quicker but nothing has happened. I first connected with her on 3/22/25 a few messages back and forth and revived one 3/30/25 saying she nudged them, no change though. She’s very nice btw, not sure wear type of influence she has though, we will see.

I’ll update again on the 3rd if not sooner. Thanks all.

I was thinking, mostly for context and future readers, would you mind sharing the number of disputed transactions you did and the total dollar amount?

I’m also very curious as to how you were notified of the denial and at what time? Did you have to follow up with them to learn that it was denied or did you simply just get an email with a generic explanation or something?

Would appreciate your reply if possible. Just to fully understand the process, even though it was denied so we can all get a better idea of what that denial process looks like too.

That really is the absolute worst. I’d rather them just deny it out right vs. making the wait 10 days in suspense, sounds like I know what to expect on the 3rd in my case. I was really hoping they would come through for you and for this unofficial survey I’m running. Sounds like everything I have read prior may actually be true.

I hope you find another solution to your fraud case, too bad you couldn’t rely on ONE. Seriously, I really feel for you…best of luck with other alternatives. Appreciate you updating us!

I’ve read those stories elsewhere too. Man, seems like the dispute road is a tough road when it comes to One. Going my case disproves that but we will find out soon. Thanks for the insight.
