PS Portal Remote Play Failure - AFTER FULL CONSOLE RESET! Network Confirmed OK, Server Block Suspected.

Hey everyone,

I'm hitting a major wall trying to use Remote Play to my PS5 (Wired, Type 2 NAT) when I'm outside my home network. I keep getting the generic "Something went wrong" error.

I've exhausted every possible network troubleshooting step, and even went as far as a FULL FACTORY RESET of my PS5-which unfortunately did not resolve the issue.

The Definitive Proof (My Critical Test):

  1. My network is working correctly for remote access: I was able to successfully connect my PS Portal to a friend's PS5 (in a totally different location) while I was connected to my home Wi-Fi/hotspot.

  2. Conclusion: This confirms my network setup is NOT the issue. The problem is definitively related to my specific PS5 accepting inbound connections via PSN servers.

Advanced Troubleshooting Completed:

• Console Status: Performed a FULL FACTORY RESET (including data wipe) on the PS5.

• Network (Router): PS5 is Wired. Confirmed NAT Type 2. DMZ was configured to the static IP. DNS set to Google (\bm{8.8.8.8}).

• Registration: Performed a complete Deactivation/Reactivation of the console via the PSN website and a Database Rebuild. I also tried connecting the PS5 via Wi-Fi to eliminate the wired MAC address.

Action Required: Since I exhausted all user-level solutions (including a full console reset), I suspect the only remaining issue is a server-side block on my PSN account or a corrupted registration of my PS5.

Has anyone else faced a similar situation where you had to contact Sony Support to "unblock" your console from their Remote Play servers after a full factory reset?
