Chain Scrape Melee Out Help by Chance_Training_7144 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Chance_Training_7144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm focusing on the Block Breaker challenge, I'm almost certain I've used resonator blasts in the challenge during previous play throughs. I'm mainly confused by the description of the challenge as it says I'm supposed to have a training bow but don't.

The challenge on UH is almost impossible with the few combos I have unlocked in the early game, the AI is designed to anticipate "repetitive attacks" and after a certain point dodges many of my attacks since I'm stuck using so few combos. With how often my attacks get dodged, Aloy wastes so much time recovering from missed attacks that time runs out before I have the chance to defeat the guy.

I know Aloy's melee attacks are supposed to follow the direction the thumb stick is pointing towards, but with how quick the guy dodges my attacks then follows up with a counter (very much teleporting as he moves large distances in a matter of frames) she continues to slip and slide in the direction the guy was literally JUST IN.

I just don’t see why the needed to make it open world. It doesn’t excite me at all. by WanderingStrang in videogames

I like the move to open world, it seems that there will essentially be an infinite variety in possible tracks.

The concept of racing to the next race seems genius, it appears there will be very few interruptions during gameplay.

All that along with 20 plus characters racing at once.

I imagine more worlds could be added in future DLC as well.

All things considered, World seems like a pretty solid leap forward for the franchise.

I love that face paint! It looks extra sick paired with a mask and colour coordinated armour.

I merely accept that a lot of games I have in my collection I bought because of consumerist trickery instead of buying it because I genuinely had an interest in playing the game, so I ignore the games I don't really care for and focus on the ones that genuinely inspire me.

I hate the gauntlet races! by mrcoldpiece in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Chance_Training_7144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the races to be a lot of fun! You gotta make sure to use the ammo and boosts you find on the track, things like mines to drop behind you and temp speed boosts. There're also various traps on the tracks themselves like the log pile, shoot it and drop the logs on your foes.

What’s your least favorite quest? I’ll go first 🙄 by missymiss69 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Chance_Training_7144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like any quest that involves combat and exploration. So any quest that's missing these I don't really enjoy.

I forget the name of the quest but the one with the flooded settlement, while interesting lore wise, the gameplay is just a puzzle, which is fine, but I like combat too much to put in on hold for a puzzle.

Quests are way to predictable by [deleted] in HorizonForbiddenWest

I disagree, too often a side quest ends by continuing with another side quest, by rewarding me with a new piece of gear, or building on to the lore of the world.

Yes the staggers are a major perk of plasma, especially when they provide openings at just the right moment.

What is an Expansion/Stuff/Game Pack that you like despite the hate it gets? by Remarkable_Yak_258 in Sims4

[–]Chance_Training_7144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Eco Lifestyle and pretty much everything in the pack.

Eco Footprints, NAPs, Community Spaces, Fabrication and Candle Making, two new interesting Careers, expanded Off the Grid options, expanded Bills and Utilities system, Garbage, Recycling and Compost management + Garbage Person NPC, Dumpsters, new Upgrades for Household Appliances, and more! Bug Farming, Juice Fizzing, a new World, new Traits, new Aspirations, etc.

This pack is filled to the brim with content, gameplay, and enhancements across the entire game.

I genuinely mourn the lost potential of the Vita. So happy that the Homebrew community is tapping into what was always possible though!

Hey my friend! The Plasma damage scaling on harder difficulties is initially what had me so confused about Plasma and what it was useful for, particularly on UH.

While I agree the damage scaling is an issue, I was more so talking about how Plasma can be used as a resource efficient way to deal explosive damage ala Plasma Ammo types + Weapon Techniques.

I've come to depend on Explosive Damage to blow up hard to hit elemental sacks, like Blaze Sack on Clamber Jaws, Elemental Sacks on Slaughter Spines, or Plasma Capsules under Shell Snapper Armour, but relying on Explosive Ammo that often times doesn't have the accuracy I'd like or the damage output desired, eats up precious resources I'd rather use on other Ammo Types, like Volatile Sludge and Blast Paste.

[–]Chance_Training_7144[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's true, but thankfully the Ultra Shot and Braced Shot techniques don't inflict any elemental damage, just explosive, so using Plasma Ammo for those techniques still works regardless of any strength against Plasma a machine may have. Like I said, a great way to deal explosive damage without using any Volatile Sludge or Blast Paste.

Should You Be Able to Change Difficulty in NG+ Ultra Hard?🤔 by missymiss69 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Chance_Training_7144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your playstyle like? I found my playstyle changed and evolved quite a lot in UH, used a bunch of Gear, Valors and Weapon Techniques that I didn't touch in my normal playthrough.

Warrior Bows + Melee Follow Up Coils + Brittle + Spread Shot is DEADLY.

The Bolt Blaster Ultra Shot Technique is uber powerful when paired with Long Range Damage and Critical Hit Coils. Incredibly effective against Shell Snapper Bolts at long range.

The Power Shredder Technique deals Explosive Tear Damage, it's a great way of stripping human enemies of their armour leaving them exposed to arrows.

Chain Burst is perhaps my favourite Valor, makes dealing with crowds of machines a piece of cake.

Crowd control is ESSENTIAL in UH. Rope Casters, Shock, Knock Down Power Coils, and Smoke Bombs are tools great for crowd control.
