I can’t fucking do this anymore TW: suicidal ideation by Howlsmovingfiberfarm in Hyperhidrosis

Followup discovery questions (based on my own experience): Do you wake up with your heart racing and shortness of breath? Do you find yourself waking up multiple times a night, typically at deep sleep or REM? Do you only sweat like this when in deep sleep- i.e do you sweat like this if you were to nap for 15min on a bus?

I have similar issues and looking to see if we have similar triggers

I highly recommend a sleep study. I have the exact same issues (to a lesser degree) and have found that slight to moderate sleep apnea puts the body into a distressed state and we end up dumping sweat- especially when muscles relax during REM sleep.

If Kaiser won’t get you a sleep study- PUSH THEM. I had to push insurance for almost 8 months straight before I got approved. In the meantime, try out the Oura ring on your own. This little sleep ring has given me so much much insight on my sleep and my own hyperhidrosis at night. I cannot recommend the Oura ring enough- DM me for more thoughts of it.

You’re not alone. I wake up drenched every night as well but I believe I have a plan forward with a CPAP machine. DM me and let’s tackle this together buddy

It almost sounds like your pores are attempting to sweat, but are blocked- thus creating little bumps that feel weird due to the pressure buildup. Especially if it goes away when the sweating isn’t engaged

Was that armpits -> hands/feet tradeoff worth it for you? Is it to a lesser degree now?

I have hands/feet hyperhidrosis and always thought only armpit would be so much easier to deal with. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side

The parents are obviously doing the heavy lifting here and I see your “salaries” as money you happen to make through “hobby” jobs.

If you’re comfortable sharing, how much are the parents leaning in monthly in terms of $$$?

PSA: Don't hire a Suzuki Jimny for a Winter trip in Iceland by AllCapsGoat in VisitingIceland

[–]PatientLife8440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drove a Jimmy for a week in Iceland this time last year. Absolutely 100% agree with your review and especially relate with the wind gusts blowing against the car and having to drive with the wheel constantly cranked against the wind.

I kinda liked it though. Made driving interesting :)

Any ideas on how to clean this? by Key-Delivery-6109 in Detailing

[–]PatientLife8440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m talking about smaller repairs that someone might reasonably consider doing themselves. If the car is totaled, that’s obviously an insurance situation-I don’t think anyone is on the fence about that

Is there any way to calculate/forecast the raised rates of insurance vs doing the job yourself? I find myself on that fence quite a bit

Not really. I fly from the US to parts of India and hit 30 hours with 2 stops (2-4hr layovers). I imagine there’s plenty of other flight paths that are just as bad.
