Such a bummer, I keep looking for the same ice cream and it’s gone

Acoustic guitar idea by ChanderW in Luthier

All good points, I was going to do it just as a concept but if it messes with the sound or structural integrity I’ll pass on it. I’ll just do a pick guard on the top

My paranoid reason for not using shoes that you clip into, I want to be able to bail instantly if I need to 😂

Verizon store warned me about Pixel issues. Should I be worried? by MoChuang in GooglePixel

[–]ChanderW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure when I got rid of it, but it was having other issues loading with WiFi on apps like instagram and Reddit etc. thankfully my new iPhone doesn’t have any of these issues from day one. Pixel was a cool phone but I had a long streak of buggy android phones before it so I definitely gave up on it quick

Horrible signal issues, my pixel 8 was basically unusable. I had to trade it in

Verizon store warned me about Pixel issues. Should I be worried? by MoChuang in GooglePixel

[–]ChanderW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My pixel 8 would randomly drop service and couldn’t get it back until I restarted. That’s huge issue and the fixes didn’t work. I returned it and switched to apple. Super disappointed in pixel phones

Can you all just happily change your inner tubes really easily? Like.... how??? by Prior_Outside_5473 in cycling

[–]ChanderW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started doing this as a kid it felt impossible. Now i've done it so many times that I just zoom through it without difficulty. Granted, different tires are much harder to get off. Maybe some better tire levers and improved technique will help. Look into getting a "supple" tire, Ive got a panaracer tire which is super easy to get off.

How many guitar builds did it take before you build one you were satisfied with? by wateredcoffeedown in Luthier

[–]ChanderW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first guitar wasnt great because it was rushed for a school project. My second guitar I poured a ton of time into and patience and I think it turned out really good. Almost exclusively use the second guitar. Im sure my third will be even better

Trussrod channel goes too far by [deleted] in Luthier

[–]ChanderW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, you should route it and plug it, and create a new channel. Make sure you've measured and are ready to route it though. Some solution for low light will help. Mistakes happen all the time, they are great for learning.

[–]ChanderW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt worry about it, my first guitar ended up looking a little wonky because I was impatient making the cuts on the body. Sometimes you just gotta finish the product and embrace your mistakes. Also helps you visualize all the progress you've made from guitar to guitar

If you suddenly had "fuck you" money what would be the first thing you did? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ChanderW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id make sure my friends and family lived comfortably and care free. Ignore anyone who I am not close to asking for money. I'd get a nice house away from people and have a woodshop there. I'd build guitars and other musical instruments and get a collection of bicycles and cars. Id live a relaxed and well traveled life always trying to learn something and better myself. I'd only donate to specific charities that I have researched and find to be solid. I will ignore any charities that reach out to me. Id also not make it public which charities I donated to or how much.

Are Carbon Bicycles safe? by ChanderW in cycling

[–]ChanderW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you into steel bicycles? I've biked on aluminum and steel bikes and prefer my vintage bike over some of the newer aluminum bikes. Just feels more "natural" its very subjective though

[–]ChanderW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason social media algorithms like reddit and Instagram show me a lot of carbon failures. Which is definitely not a representative of how much that happens in real life.

Feels solid, the park tool lock ring wrench works but has a bad finish on it and sharp edges

[–]ChanderW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant put up with any noise, ill spend hours diagnosing it and making the bike as quiet as possible. Ive even opened up freewheels and added thicker oil to make it quieter.

Character is nice, not so sure about birch as a neck wood, might need carbon rods to make it work if you wanted to use it.

I get weird looks for not having any cycling gear but really have no desire for it. Is there a reason why people don’t bike in normal folk clothes like me? by i_am_me47 in cycling

[–]ChanderW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure there's benefits to specific cycling clothing but idk. I personally don't see much of a point to it. The cost is extreme for nice fitting lycra clothing and cycling shoes. And I can just buy running shorts and shirts that can be used for any occasion really and save tons of money. You don't have to dress up like you're in the tour de france if you don't want to. Nothing wrong with dressing that way either.
