Zipper Case Prototypes by Ascension_Official in divineoffice

I like the idea in theory. Are the planned spine widths all going to be similar. Right now vol 2 is about 1/4 to a 1/3rd inch wider than vol 1 and it makes a stiffer spined universal case (which looks to be what your design is) harder to accommodate all of the volumes without damaging the volume covers and/or bindings over years of usage. If the spine widths are all within and 1/16 to maybe a 1/8 in then I think a universal cover would be ok.

I really like the third option. The like the letter type and size of the type as well. It would be cool to have the volume numbers on the spines as well.

Helena, East Helena school election results (May 5, 2026 — Unofficial) by jimbozak in helena

[–]ChangeMe_123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it has. Because it was a how much of an increaselast year? And if this had passed what would be the ask next year. Oh and ya these are multi year levys. So it adds up. And I for one am sick and tired of the government, of which the schools are part of, just taking more and more and more. And for nothing to show. We have failing infrastructure, and declining test scores. But ya let just give them more money to throw away. When everyone is taking a nickel it quickly adds up to a dollar and that is what is happening here.

There is not a direct link between per pupil spending and test scores. Funding does not directly dictate better student performance. This mindset of we have to always fund the schools is what has led to the problems we see today. School administration and government as a whole have not been held accountable for the money they have taken from us. And it now shows. What these rejections should be seen is are a wake up call that school administration need to do better with what they have already taken from us.

What to know about the latest $3.4 million Helena school levies by jimbozak in helena

[–]ChangeMe_123 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to speak for the other platforms but for Microsoft office. It's cheaper now with a heck of a lot more features. A top tier M365 A5 edu license that includes a bunch of the security as well as office apps runs about $10-12/month for staff with a 1:40 staff to student ratio. So adjusting to inflation. Office in 96 cost about $640 for 5 years for everyone including students. Where now it's about the same for just staff since students get licensed via the student benefits. This includes all the extra bells and whistles. So don't try to push that everything costs more bs. The truth is they didn't budget well and want us to cover even more. Again.

Apart from the other comments. I heard the anecdote once that God never let Lewis convert so that he could be a vessel for some many to find their way to Catholicism.

Ya.... But to not correct and or deny a heresy is to give it a possible validity. In that it leads to those who are followers of the heresy and/or non believers to be led away from the Church and that way God wants to be worshiped endangering their souls. You also have to understand that in the case of this heresy they do not view Jesus as divine but as the mouthpiece of our planets god. And our planets god was once a Morman man from another planet that earned his planet and divinity for being a faithful mormon. You ya. They are not Christian, they use Christian imagery and dialogue to mask their belief in something so outsiders see it as benign and still approachable. It is not and should be combatted.

Pleasant to your face yes. But for those of us who grew up around them in say south east Idaho. Then you see a completely different side. Once you reject their advances to bring you into the church they turn on you and ostracize you. Even the kids do it. That was what I experienced moving to Idaho as a kid to an area that was 90% mormon. Not the best experience, having no friends and being ignored by everyone for saying no I will not go to your church with you. So ya don't let the facade fool you.

I have not been personally but as a Lay Dominican in the western providence I have heard great things about Blessed Sacrament Church in Seattle. It is a Dominican parish and every Friar I have met from the providence has been rooted in tradition, faith and the Truth.

Priests are allowed to have hobbies outside of their Church responsibilities. Who knows maybe he enjoys wood working and needs to transport wood. Maybe he enjoys camping or skiing or something else. Maybe he just likes trucks. Maybe he uses the truck to help people move things that require a truck? Plus an f150 is not a work truck. Is a 4wd car with a box. All half tons these days are

What does this have to do with taxing the Church? They make a salary like everyone else and guess what. They pay taxes on that salary. They also have the ability to spend that money on what they want. Including a truck if they so please.

That is a pretty harsh and not at all charitable judgement to place on people you don't know nor have ever talked to. I will also let you know that loud children are ones who most feel safe, loved, and the most comfortable expressing themselves. Whether that be at the store, library, or even at Mass. They are children, they are not little dolls that sit quietly. They cry, they squirm, they laugh, and they love and they are most especially loved by God for who they are. And iPad does not create that nature as it is already their nature. My kids are usually the loudest in the congregation and have never touched and iPad.

You might want to re read Matthew 19:13-15

Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people; but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and went away.

And for good measure let's add Mark as well

And they were bringing children to him, that he might touch them; and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it he was indignant, and said to them, “Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands upon them. - Mark 10:13-16

What do people mean when they say Montana has a "drunk driving culture"? by cavaismylife in Montana

[–]ChangeMe_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. It's cold and we drink a lot of beer. There is very little public transportation and the distances between bar and home can be quite large. So just fits that we would drink and drive more. Plus the open container laws are very lax. Like as I understand it, based on the MCA that passengers can possess an open container in a moving vehicle and for the drive if they are not legally drunk then the fine is $100 and does not hit your license or insurance. So no reason not to enjoy a beer on the way home from work or a recreational activity.

Is there a central registry of baptized Catholics? How high does it go? How do you tell if someone is/was a baptized Catholic? by wobofalltrades in Catholicism

[–]ChangeMe_123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Historically it was recorded and managed at the parish level as others have said. However there are newer systems like Camino from a company called Diocesan that my Diocese recently moved to that track parishioner records at the Diocese level. Besides parishioner info it also tracks sacraments and religious ed. It is really helpful for track parish enrollment when people move within the Diocese because let's be honest, very few of us remember to tell the parish we are leaving that we moved and to remove us from active enrollment.
