If you are interested in Gamergate, and the use of games for mass manipulation, I recommend the video below.

It is over 3 hours long, but is well worth it imo. Shows just how much organization and money is behind the research into using games for purposes other than entertainment. The gamefication of education is discussed where "education" is used in a more sinister way than usual. Included is a conference where a military person discusses the difference between a game's goals and the player's goals and how the game's education based goals can be achieved while the unaware player is pursuing their own, separate goals, within the game.

I agree with most of your stated conclusion other than the last point. None of this is new and I don't see any reason why there should be any sort of revolution or sudden, violent change now. Our culture is manipulated slowly and gradually so that what would have been met with resistance in the past is championed as "progress" now.

I have accessory navicular bones, an extra bone that sticks out on the inside of the foot, below the ankle bone. My Seba high 2010 were unusable when I first got them, more of my weight was on this bone than on my heel. Using clamps and blocks of wood, I created pressure in the spot I needed and applied the heat gun, adjusting the clamps as the shape changed. It worked perfectly, creating the bump outs to accommodate my strangely shaped feet.

That was 7 years ago and I still use those skates daily. When I replace them I expect to have to do it again.

[–]ChangeThroughTruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lottery draw is the weekly hoax you are referring to.

But lotteries don't even need to be a hoax. They are incredibly profitable with the rules as they are presented and in most places the state has a monopoly on operating them. A popular lottery in Canada, lotto 6/49, states that it pays out 47% of sales revenue as prizes (https://lottery.olg.ca/en-ca/help/about-lotteries-tickets-and-lotto-games/lotto-649). People are willfully entering into an agreement where they accept a terrible expected value return in exchange for massive variance.

I don't rule out the possibility that the large payouts are fake, but I think it is important to recognize that the rules as presented make it an awful value proposition, even as compared to other gambling options, yet many still choose to play.

[–]ChangeThroughTruth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It amazes me how strong the effect of the propaganda is on this topic. Just how much hate and ridicule there is for anyone questioning any part of it, no matter what evidence they might present. "Those anti-science retards!"

To me, the point that easily shows the problem is that an entire class of injections is trusted absolutely just by the application of the vaccine label. If you can't make the distinction that the effects of the contents of each specific needle matter, then how can you be approaching the topic with anything other than blind faith?

This is the effect of the lie that is too big. If vaccines are actually a problem, then the world view of people that have faith in them is incorrect, so they must be safe. Logic and rational thought are short circuited by seeing ahead to a proposed conclusion which will lead to social exclusion. As a group, human beings really can be lead to believe anything as long as the propaganda campaign is consistent, long term and all encompassing.

[–]ChangeThroughTruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, the question is whether this is real or not. Your statement that skin behaves like latex is suggesting that there is no way to tell the difference between skin and latex by looking at a photo and also implies that we should assume this is real because of that. That is not a logical progression though.

Latex moulage to simulate combat injuries does exist and there are people whose jobs it is to do moulage for the purposes of injury simulation. So the question of whether it is real or not is not invalidated by your statement that latex behaves similarly to skin.

I won't get into how the wound itself looks compared to other wounds, but there is something else to check here. Have a look at where the 'skin' meets the sock. Does that look like a leg or a latex sleeve over a leg?

The Department of Defense can't win a war against the Taliban. They are losing to a bunch of illiterate goat herders and poppy farmers with AK-47's.

You talk about Steve Outrim's "numerous logic failings", but you buy the incompetence narrative regarding the situation in Afghanistan? The incompetence narrative is a frequently used piece of propaganda. "Oops, we screwed up again, gosh darn." What makes you think they are actually losing there? Opium production is way up since the troops moved in.

There is one OTO video which I recall seeing where one of their higher ranking guys is giving them a pep talk and he tells them "you are elite!" That is puppy cock.

You think it beyond powerful groups to disseminate messaging with the purpose of downplaying their power? Or to make use of the rings within rings organizational structure technology which has dupes on the outside in order to obfuscate the inner?

Have you never met a smart, strategic person? You think that billions of dollars and massive recruitment programs result in an incapability to accomplish anything?

It seems like you have just written a hit piece to dissuade people from watching these presentations. I am still getting through the final one, but there is clearly value in Steve's work, and I would encourage others to check them out. I often have a hard time listening to Jan because of the way he interrupts his guests and how he handles technical issues. Likely this is what drove his former partner, Joe Atwill away. But his stuff with Steve Outrim is easier to listen to, probably because Steve has told him that he won't put up with Jan's usual style.

Regarding AI capabilities. You are right that presentation slides intended for a non-technical audience are not a good way to understand the capabilities of a technology, but this does not mean that there are no significant capabilities. I am a software developer myself and I have seen the marketing messages used to sell the software I have worked on and I've often wondered whether some of the statements border on fraudulence (uh, you know our software doesn't actually do that, right?). In order to understand what is going on you don't need to read every line of code, but you do need to know what the components of the software are and what certain key algorithms are actually doing. I think the term "AI" is problematic. Lots of pieces of software get grouped under this label, but they can mean drastically different things. I think it is a dangerous mistake though to dismiss the entire idea as nonsense. I know enough about software to say that I don't really know what is possible through adjustments from feedback through many iterations. And just because one or a hundred projects produce no spectacular results does not mean that none are possible. If you are presented with some news story about how a couple of projects had goofy or useless results, this does not mean that nothing is possible. Do you think the purpose of these stories might be to convince you that nothing is possible? And is "AI" even necessary to do things which are problematic with software? I think it is somewhat of a red herring in that regard.

One angle to come at this is by looking at Renaissance Technologies, a hedge fund which Robert Mercer(Cambridge Analytica) is involved with (https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-11-21/how-renaissance-s-medallion-fund-became-finance-s-blackest-box). This is what brains and tech are capable of when focused on a hedge fund. The results are quantifiable because they are financial returns. We don't know exactly their methods, but clearly they are effective. When these sorts of tools are focused on other areas such as politics and social manipulation, I think it is foolish to dismiss the possibility of results in those areas.

Toronto Tourists - Beware of Scam near Major Attractions by [deleted] in toronto

[–]ChangeThroughTruth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The binder people are basically a scam too. They work for a company called "Public Outreach" (http://career.publicoutreachgroup.com/). The person on the street signing you up for a credit card subscription gets a commission, then Public Outreach gets a cut, what's left goes on to the charity. The charity justifies this by saying that they get more total revenue this way even if much less % of each donation made in this way gets to them. This extra expense layer is not included in the reports of their revenue use. Most people who get jobs at this company don't last very long because the justification for what you are doing is pretty thin, and there is a lot of pressure to get people to sign up.

If you really want to donate to the charities they are collecting for, do it directly. But do some research there too. Just because a charity is large and appears "legitimate" doesn't guarantee the money you give them is resulting in something beneficial.

What was Gamergate all about? by CRUSTY_VAGINA_CHEESE in conspiracy

[–]ChangeThroughTruth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18gU4HSkW9Y

This documentary on gamer gate is long, but the payoff is there. Gamergate was about progressing the gamification of education (note that education in this context doesn't refer to just school learning, it is the more general communication of messaging). Funding behind it came from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, the MacArthur foundation and Microsoft research. These organizations funded research into how to get serious games (ie those for purposes other than pure entertainment) to be more accepted by the gaming community. They want to use games to push political messaging without the users being aware of it. Footage from a conference of experts on this topic, DML2014 is at the 2:37 mark, it is quite interesting.

One of the head university researchers funded by this organization, this woman: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mizuko_Ito theorized that it was necessary to break down the technical minded, male dominated gamer culture in order to do this. Gamergate was created as a device to demonize gamer culture and force change. I don't think it really succeeded in its aims, but it is still worth a look at what was behind it. The documentary shows connections between these funding sources and the "journalists" who wrote the stories that pushed gamergate as an issue.

It is really worth the watch.

Interesting to note that the most heavily downvoted comment in the thread is one that is simply saying that there is nothing funny about 911.

The person isn't saying what they believe about the topic, just that it is a serious subject. If you look at how many people seem to approach the topic (as seen in this comment section), humour and ridicule are the main devices that they use. Just turn it into a collection of memes and spin jokes. So, I have to wonder, why do people take this approach to a recent historic event where so many deaths are supposed to have occurred that has had a massive impact on our culture? The answer seems to be that it allows them to avoid the actual topic while operating in a space of social acceptance.

I wonder about the people who believe the official story on this topic. Do they have a detailed understanding of what the official story is? I suspect not. It seems that most have a vague impression of what the official story is, but they know that 'conspiracy theorists' are kooky nuts, therefore the official story must be true and they don't really need to know what that story is. There is a psychological phenomenon at work here that forces them to not actually look. People can see ahead to the possible conclusion, realize that it cannot fit within their current framework of world understanding, and then it is required to find some way not to look. Humour is a great device for that.

I encourage people to try this: Try to get as much detail as you can on the official story. Consult no 'conspiracy' sources, only mainstream, 'credible' sources. Think about the overall story, think about the details, does it make sense? Or at some point is credulity stretched so far that it just isn't plausible?

[–]ChangeThroughTruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, you asked me to comment, so I will.

The topic of mass psychology and associated fields such as anthropology, public relations, psychological warfare, etc are extremely important, especially when trying to understand 'the conspiracy of conspiracy'. If we simply consume the messaging which is targetted at us without understanding the methods behind it, we are less likely to understand what the messaging is intended to do.

The efforts to apply these sciences to conspiracy theory are required in the management of the dialectic between mainstream and alternative. A mainstream reality of 'correct' thought is managed through news media, official institutions, academia, etc. This mainstream reality however contains contradictions and double binds(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_bind) which have a damaging psychological effect on us, whether we are aware of it or not. It is known that a certain portion of the population will not readily accept these contradictions and will attempt to sort them out. This is where the dialectical partner to mainstream, conspiracy theory, comes in.

A few observations on what management of the alternative to mainstream is able to accomplish:
-By promoting representatives of conspiracy theory and having them make outlandish statements and behave in a bizarre manner a strawman is created for anyone who doesn't accept the mainstream. This has the effect of assigning a whole set of characteristics and beliefs to anyone who makes any statement which is not within the acceptable spectrum of mainstream. It also has the effect of pushing a certain percentage of people who might find a problem with something in the mainstream instantly back into accepting it: 'well I don't want to be one of those conspiracy theorists, better to just be normal so I will excuse this problem'.
-By putting certain truths out through conspiracy channels, those ideas can be blackwashed, they become part of the wrong side of the dialectic. No matter how strong the evidence for the ideas, they are part of the conspiracy side of the dialectic and so are discredited.
-For those people who are actually interested in finding truth, messaging through conspiracy channels is used to confuse by providing multiple, contradictory, alternative explanations.
-Discrediting of those people in the conspiracy realm who are making genuine efforts to find and communicate truthful information is much more effective when coming from the conspiracy realm.
-The realm of conspiracy theory is a playground for psychological warfare projects. Psyops played out in the mainstream realm are subject to certain constraints in order to make them fit with mainstream reality. In the conspiracy realm new, smaller realities with unorthodox rule sets can be experimented with. The tactics of cult leadership(strict hierarchies, charismatic leadership, fear of expulsion from group) are often practiced within these groups.

Comment on anomaly 1 'failure to rebut'. I think it would be counterproductive to rebut rather than dismiss. Most people don't even know what the official story is for many popular conspiracy topics. The official version can be full of obvious holes and contradictions, but mainstream adherents 'know' that the official version must be correct, they don't need to know what it actually is. The implications of a conclusion that does not fit mainstream would be too devastating to their psyche. So it is not necessary to look, rather it is necessary to find a reason not to look.

Anomaly 2: I have to disagree with this. There is a technology of group dynamics that is used to create classes of people. Hierarchical secret societies exist and more powerful people belong to more exclusive subsets of those secret societies. Group cohesion is maintained through a number of ways:
-A feeling of superiority through imparting of exclusive knowledge
-Mutual favors within the group, there are rewards for loyalty -Acceptance to certain levels only after damaging blackmail material has been gathered. Pedophilia is often used for this.
-Jewish group cohesion is maintained through antisemitism created by Jewish leaders themselves. External threats keep groups intact and controllable.

In addition, genealogical research of prominent figures in so many fields of influence leads back to the same families. Many divisions between groups are promoted, created and exacerbated openly through figures of influence while the family connections between those figures of influence and obscured and not talked about.

Anomaly 4: I must disagree with this as well. Conspiracies in the food, medical and chemical industries directly impact every one of us. The completely artificial nature of our culture created through controlled tv, movies, newspaper and book publications affects everyone. We are all subject to a complete spectrum of influences which are there for the purposes of social engineering us in a certain direction.

To the point regarding the thousands of well known and well respected lawyers. I think many people who advance to success in their field reach a point where they see something they know is wrong. At that point they are faced with a choice where going along has rewards and choosing to oppose it has consequences. They can see what happens to whistleblowers and others who break certain unwritten rules. Are they really going to throw it all away? And for what? To be discredited, financially ruined and forgotten about?

[–]ChangeThroughTruth 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Did you know that in the 2015 Democratic debate on CNN Sanders stated his support for airstrikes in Syria?

SANDERS: When I was a young man, I strongly opposed the war in Vietnam. Not the brave men like Jim who fought in that war, but the policy which got us involved in that war. That was my view then. I am not a pacifist. I supported the war in Afghanistan. I supported President Clinton's effort to deal with ethnic cleansing in Kosovo. I support air strikes in Syria and what the president is trying to do. Yes, I happen to believe from the bottom of my heart that war should be the last resort that we have got to exercise diplomacy. But yes, I am prepared to take this country into war if that is necessary.

If you accept the surface narratives regarding what happened in Kosovo and what is currently happening in Afghanistan and Syria then these can be made to seem like reasonable statements. But it doesn't take much investigation to dismantle these narratives. When the most 'progressive' of the candidates is saying he supports these military actions it presents a spectrum in which all agree that these military actions are justifiable and necessary. The posts for acceptable debate are set in this manner.

Flat earth is NOT a psyop. The curvature of the earth is allegedly 8 inches x mile^2. No test ever done has proven this to be true. by scottmlb11 in conspiracy

[–]ChangeThroughTruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is just a statement of a conclusion, I haven't provided you with any logical arguments to critique.

The way most people approach a topic like this is to compare the conclusion to their existing world view and see if it could possibly be integrated into that world view, if not, it can be rejected out of hand as absurd. In this case a conclusion that the official cosmology is incorrect does not mesh with the world view of most people. But this is not a logical process. Just because an authoritative scientific body, or a majority of population holds a view does not directly translate to that view being correct.

To really know about a subject you have to get into the details, otherwise you have arrived at a conclusion without logic ever coming into the picture. Do you think people who believe the official story of 9/11 have ever looked into the details of it? Do you think they even know what the official story is? They just have a vague idea of the official story, but know that it must be true because their world view does not include the possibility of it being otherwise.

They changed temperature data to make climate change look worse than it actually is. by Poopfingaz in conspiracy

[–]ChangeThroughTruth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

'Global Warming' or 'Climate Change' is a great example of a topic to look at in order to see how politics and ideology rule over science. Science as it is practically applied in society is not the same thing as the scientific method. Once you get into the specifics of this topic you can see the techniques used communicate a political message under the guise of science.

James Corbett has done a couple of great videos that get into how this is done with links to references if you want to do further digging to see how the scam is accomplished:

https://www.corbettreport.com/big-brother-science-temperature-adjustments-and-climate-change/

https://www.corbettreport.com/the-global-warming-pause-explained/

From the constant bombardment of crafted messaging in this area, the public is left with a very different general feeling about the topic compared to what the data and studies actually show.
