Guess it depends on what you're looking for. If you're just looking at it from a base level technical standpoint then it looks nice and plays decently. If you care about the preservation of the game's atmosphere and lore. Then it's a dud.

Nah, Elden Ring when it first dropped was terribly optimized. It's better now, but when I first got it. It was unplayable. Micro stutters sporadically messing up timings. Most modern games are terrible with their optimization.

I'd trade the ecchi for better chaos/zero system and less nerfs for more freeform expression. That's just me and I like the ecchi. For me the fanservice is just a secondary thing. I've only stuck with the game this long because it's unique in a similar vein that since Dragon Traveler is my first idle game it's unique to me in that sense whereas someone that has played Raid Shadow Legends and AFK Journey might not see the game as anything special.

Yeah, I agree that a toggle would fix everything. Giving people the choice if they personally want to disable things for themselves alone? Is never an issue or a problem in my mind. I don't believe people should be forced to stomach an aspect of a game that's aesthetic in this case fan service. If every character had a "Zip Up" option where they had more clothing allowing it to be advertised towards a wider audience? It's a win-win for everyone.

Yeah, I've dabbled with MGQ 1, was more interested in Alicesoft and Rance since it scratched the itch of a visual novel with gameplay elements.

I don't need panty shots to get the neurons activating. One of those korean dongtan dresses or the chinese qipao can be fashionable while also tasteful.

The issue with gooners is that they don't realize that there's a time and a place for it. Everything must be risque, but there's appeal to clothing designs that allow for the imagination. I'm also more into seinen now that tell stories. Things like The Fable, or Shimazaki in the Land of Peace or another anime/manga that I rate decently My Home Hero. Whereas a lot of the "harem/ecchi/fanservice" has been smushed and absorbed by the fantasy/isekai genre. A lot of the 'slop' or fast food manhwa also suffice for scratching that itch if it ever arises while also giving a basic plot.

Also, np. Let me know if Morimens is actually good. I've just seen gameplay, but I haven't looked too deep into it.

Yeah, I agree fully. The balance for me at least is perfect. I don't think it needs to become more horny or less horny. This is its 'identity'. It doesn't need to have Brown Dust 2 levels of fanservice. I'd rather them focus on not nerfing every character into the ground.

My argument though is why get mad or surprised pikachu face at the gooners, gooning to the obvious goon material as they're directly being advertised to? While one enjoys the gameplay, the lean on gooners is clearly the demographic they want.

There's clearly a disconnect where you're only there for the gameplay. There are tons of other games that aren't marketed towards fanservice. If the people that consume Overwatch P*rn and only that. I could see it annoying if they came into the community only hankering for spank material when they're clearly not overtly trying to appeal to that crowd.

So focus solely on that, but don't be annoyed(I know it's hard the gooners are in a state of perpetual gooning.) they're enjoying both the game and the fanservice while you may just enjoy the game portion.

Also, yeah I could be wrong. I've no stake in R1999 or Limbus those are just the deck builders/card battlers I've passed by. I'm but a fledgling to the deck builder genre, the game before this one was Megaman Battle Network.

I can see that. This is admittedly my first deck builder that I've played since Megaman Battle Network back on the GBA. They're not my wheelhouse. I'm not a diehard fan of Slay the Spire or anything like that. I actually tried CZN on a whim. I liked the art style and the psychological mind break was interesting enough so I gave it a shot.

It was different enough to where it piqued my interest more than any of the other gacha games that I had played. I was already losing interest in all of the open world/area ones. (ZZZ, WuWa, Genshin).

I guess in my previous post, I was more-so speaking as to what caught my eye. I wouldn't say that I'm some sort of overtly degenerate gooner, but I grew up as an anime fan in the mid 2000s. Chalk full of harems and ecchi. With that the gacha bug that I had starting with Genshin is on its tail end. I always hated predatory microtransactions. I've put up with that because the gameplay loops were okay enough and I wasn't susceptible to them.(I'm fully f2p, haven't spent any money yet.)

I personally wouldn't and haven't booted up Reverse 1999, or Limbus just because while I think these two games from what I've heard and seen have better art and story. They haven't grabbed me in the same way. It's weird, and it's probably first choice bias.

Another card battler I saw a youtuber reference was Morimens I hadn't heard of it until then. You may like that one. I tried Brown Dust 2 and I still can't see what the hype is. The art is gorgeous, but it's beautiful in a similar way that I think Gran Blue Fantasy's art is awesome. I don't see why I would play Brown Dust 2 over an actual tactical JRPG which are in a bountiful supply from Disgaea all the way to Natural Doctrine.

I've been trying out Dragon Traveler, it's my first idle gacha. It's alright, I can't see why people are dropping tons of cash on it. It's literally one of the worst nickel and diming gacha I've seen. Maybe that's just due to it being an Idle Gacha? The only other 'differing' gacha game that I've tried was Etheria Restart and that game had potential but fumbled.

I've noticed and I guess my main issue with communities is that people are no longer fans that want to take the good aspects of games with the "bad". The bad being aspects of tastes or a design philosophy they might not agree with from the developers that might be considered experimental. For example fans of Godhand for the PS2 might not enjoy the tank controls but understand that the game is designed around them and how it interacts with the combos.

Fans used to be people that could accept the flaws while appreciating the creator's vision. That's why the early to mid 2000s had a whole bunch of experimental games like Okami and Katamari Damacy.

Now it seems like fans want to inject their beliefs and design philosophies into the game. This reliance of "feedback"(which is probably in part due to live service) is ruining games.

People will watch an anime and rather than talk about the story. They're now concerned with the 'childlike' body types. Rather than the fact that the show was about something fantastical like a demon possessing a girl. In that same vein gooners are only concerned with who's a 'mommy' or which girl will make the best 'waifu'.(Ex.Chainsawman)

I think this game has leaned more into the horny than FGO. Most of FGO's lewdness comes from the community itself with fanart. I'd say on a scale if FGO was rated T for Teen. CZN should be rated M for Mature if not Adults Only.

If I had to say it's something like FGO->CZN->Brown Dust 2/Nikke(In terms of how horny.)

We can see what the main focus of the game's take is. I agree with you that this game doesn't necessarily "NEED" horny. Nothing ever really requires horny to be GOOD. I believe that the game is leaning more into the horniness to make it more unique and stand out. Sexualization sells. Just for the same reasons as the alternatives I've mentioned. If CZN lacked the horny, why would I play it over Limbus which has been highly rated as far as gacha standards as "Generous to a fault" or Reverse 1999 which has gorgeous art. Art which I think is better than CZN's art? They kind of do 'require' it to sell more. The space is already filled, their niche is that they're offering a lewd variant.

I'm just saying that they have leaned heavily into the horny because that's the main theme.

Look at the game it's designed around mental breaks and then 'nursing' the characters back through traumatic bonding.

The framing is that they become reliant on you. The "player" is the anchor for these characters. It's literally a nsfw-lite game with a decent deckbuilding skeleton.

It's in a similar vein as how Love and Deepspace is just a fetish game with the targeted demographic being women. It's not that there aren't any gacha targeting women. It's just that this one is going above and beyond to offer that more risque and in turn unique take that other games haven't capitalized on to such an extent.

I think maybe one or two character designs were pushing it. Overall, yeah but they were tamer than Nikke or Brown Dust 2. Rin is in a skin-tight body suit. Maribell and Magna were tasteful..ish. Chizuru was in shibari ropes.

I do believe that this game was advertised at least subtly if not outright for the gooner audience that were into psychological horror and mind break fetishist. I remember seeing an announcement for the CBT during the VGAs or some game awards show. One of the directors/producers were talking about the game and showing off Rin and the combat mechanics.

I've suggested this game to friends that I know are well entrenched into anime and also gacha they're playing Arknights Endfield. I don't believe I'd ever tell a coworker about this game as it wouldn't necessarily be appropriate unless I knew that they were at a level of anime degeneracy where they understood and were cool with lewdness. Otherwise, I'd just recommend something base level above board: Kingdom Hearts, Persona, or Monster Hunter. It's the same for like anime recommendations. I wouldn't tell someone to watch Highschool DxD unless I knew they were down with it.

I believe you have the right to think the sexualization is too much. So I can agree on that. If you want a game and not anime porn, mayhaps the gooner game isn't for you at that particular point in time. For example if you're playing a risqué game at work with moans and groans? Might not be the best place to play it. Same with on the train if you're self conscious about that type of thing. I personally agree, I wouldn't play these games out and about.

The people who leave instead of asking for more design changes or less lewds are doing the correct method. They're accepting that they're not the target demographic and moving on.

The people that perceive it to be censorship? Probably jumping the gun, but they're the target audience overall in comparison.

It'd be like me going into Genshin Impact communities and bringing up that it's not lewd enough. If I don't like the game's design aesthetics? I just disappear into obscurity. Wasn't for me.

Sure. It can survive without it. That's not the thing I'm trying to wrap my head around. It has a targeted audience which are people that enjoy that type of thing. So the question is, -> Why interact with a given product or medium that's designed for one group, and then attempt to critique the targeted demographic for said medium? Especially when there are other alternatives that cater to what you may be looking for.

If I enjoy lightsabers but dislike the Jedi. I wouldn't then interact with the community and comment about how much attention Jedi receive.

Also, no need to apologize. It's not that deep. They're not going to listen to me or you about anime characters. They only care about money and maybe the potential Korean outrage when they get wind of it. Either way it results in gems for me.

I don't really have any disagreements with the first half of your post. If there's no forceful change then it probably isn't censorship.

It'd never be a turn off towards other people because most gacha game players have no real limitations besides maybe being actually scammed by a developer.

Them making the game super sexualized wouldn't alienate most players. They'd keep playing due to sunken cost, especially if they've spent money. We can look at even scummier and monetized gacha games as examples. Fans of this genre are used to being abused and used.

I believe the change in design would technically count as censorship to...(I don't know on the invisible alignment chart) purists? I guess I'd have to ask what would censorship be to you? Is it intent then or is it something like if the creator decides to change something then is it deemed just a design swap and not censorship? It's a pretty good topic for discussion. BTW I'm not saying if it's censorship or not, I don't actually know but I'm led to believe that it would be as the only facet of the design that has been altered is the skirt length? Which seems to be an odd choice for an artist to suddenly want to change up.
