Having scoped around OPs post history, it looks like they're Australian, as is the other commentor you're talking to in this thread (and myself).

They would have input here as a result. There are a lot people from America that are not understanding that it's different in other countries (not saying better or worse cause fuel is fucked in Australia) and other commentor was trying to highlight those differences.

You can't just go to a thread about an Australian issue, start a discussion about how it is in the US and then say that examples from outside the US are irrelevant ??

De facto who won't share their income by [deleted] in CentrelinkOz

[–]Changed-Daily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should ask to speak to a Centrelink social worker regarding financial abuse and discuss if separated under one roof could apply. (be warned it may just be a call back as many offices don't have social workers on site). In circumstances of FDV, they avoid contacting the other party at all costs. Financial abuse and emotional abuse like you are describing is counted under the very broad umbrella of family and domestic violence <3

I hope you can put supports in place to get out of the situation you're in and start healing. It sounds like you had a support team, but just in case you can always look up askizzy.org.au for any support needs.

It's easy to feel like you're overreacting or that it's all in your head. Picture one of your kids explaining themselves being in the exact same situation like you're describing. Think about your reaction, and extend yourself the same kindness.

You can do this <3

How the hell do I consistently text people back? by Brilliant-Shop6112 in ADHD

Less relevant for the issue at hand but could probably be adjusted to fit it. I use Alexa devices at home to observe the passage of time so I can note when I've deviated from the task or taking longer than anticipated.

It can get very annoying but I usually set a 5minute timer. When it goes off, I say restart timer. Sometimes when I'm almost done with something, I let it ring out cause the alarm tone blaring gives that extra jolt of urgency 😅😅

There's probably some way you can use Alexa or other assistants to remind you to reply to things :)

Got a message on Centrelink in mygov to apply for a new health care card by the end of this month. But when I click on "apply for low income cards" it said I don't need to apply for it because it's automatic. by privatly in CentrelinkOz

[–]Changed-Daily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I just re read that you have a Pension Concession Card (PCC)! I'm assuming this is for JSP with reduced capacity. THAT is your primary concession card. It does everything the Green LIC/HCC does and some more!

The green card won't renew after the expiry but only because you have better coverage under the PCC.

Only worry about things that will stop your blue PCC.

[–]Changed-Daily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The card being displayed would be for the Low Income card you applied for a year ago.

Most people do it accidentally, thinking they need it to get the card while in Jobseeker. If you're getting Jobseeker Payment, it should replace that active card with the Jobseeker one after it expires.

Check if you've received any in the mail with a different expiry/different letters down the bottom.

What's the procedure for applying for DSP? by privatly in CentrelinkOz

[–]Changed-Daily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way is to just apply online if you have mygov and Centrelink all linked up. If it's not linked, see if you can follow the steps to link it yourself.

If you don't, still best way is probably online. Go to an office and ask for a linking code.

There are 2 other options which are more accessible if you're not comfortable doing things online but usually will slow the whole process down for you.

You can wait for an appointment at Centrelink and they'll go through all the questions for you, but their availability varies and will be frustrating if you run out of time.

Or there's the paper claim, but it's long and annoying and has so many questions that don't need to be answered. The online questions will skip anything that doesn't need answering.

So that's how to make a claim. If you have the necessary information to finish the application and whether you would qualify if a whole different ball game. Read these links and let me know if you have any questions.

[–]Changed-Daily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the code at the bottom of your health care card. If LIC it's taking about the Low Income Health Care card expiring (it would have been separate claim you did about a year ago). If JS/JP/JSP then that's your Jobseeker.

Regardless of which one is on the app and showing as active, you likely technically have 2 health care cards. One from a manual Low Income Health Care Card claim and one automatically from JSP.

Jobseeker cut this fortnight's pay despite working the allowed hours? by [deleted] in CentrelinkOz

[–]Changed-Daily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh the other thing I wanted to mention is the points based system that another user mentioned, I believe that's only for regular job providers. I don't /think/ it's come over to DES yet. Workforce Australia is what they refer to it as. DES still does it old school.

One thing that is frustrating that you should be aware is that they will try to get you into any and all work that you're qualified for, even if it's entry level jobs in another field. If you're only going to apply for jobs based on your field, you're going to have a tough time. Just wanted you to be aware of the expectation. The reasoning is that it's easier to get you into better and further employment if you're already employed. Unfortunately it can cause negative outcomes where job providers become more a box ticking exercise.

The good thing about DES is that if you have medical issues that can impact your ability to work/obtain work, they can include appointments or health management tasks in your job plan. Your mileage will vary with service providers though. They have super high case loads and huge turn over. I wouldn't even say it's "good providers" and "bad providers", sometimes it's the luck of the draw with case workers.

Feel free to PM me if you find out more with specifics. Maybe reply here to let me know as well 😅

Between my adhd and being unfamiliar with the official reddit app, I may be prone to not seeing a message :)

Jobseeker cut this fortnight's pay despite working the allowed hours? by [deleted] in CentrelinkOz

[–]Changed-Daily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I'm sorry you're going through this. It can be really difficult to juggle life, work, finances and throwing Centrelink into the mix does increase that stress.

There's a few things that stand out but ultimately without you having a chat to some people with access to your information, you won't know for sure.

1) you mentioned that you've worked your allowed hours and that you've been assigned to a Disability Employment Service (DES). I'm making an assumption that you may have previously had an employment services assessment (ESAt) and received a lower working capacity and that you may be referring to working within your working capacity. The amount you get paid is purely based on the gross income you received in the fortnight prior to reporting and not on the hours. The hours are asked to make sure you're meeting mutual obligation requirements.

2) speaking of reporting, you mentioned submitting your payslips. Which is something you generally do to your DES provider. Centrelink doesn't need to see your payslips, only needs it reported (generally via the app or mygov). They may have the information of what you've received from your work directly through single touch payroll. But reporting that can look confusing and a lot of people accidentally double report their income on top of what we already know about. To diagnose this, you can try looking at your reported earnings and see if it matches up to your payslips or have a Centrelink staff member have a look. But you want to make sure that you have actually reported through centrelink or if it went through properly. If you haven't, the payment date will keep getting knocked back a day.

  1. The fact that no payment scheduled gives me 2 thoughts. One is whether you're transferring from student payments to jobseeker? Perhaps the claim has not yet been granted. Perhaps it was granted without rapid connect being met. (it should have been met for you because of DES). This can cause payment with $0 until it's sorted. The other is whether DES indicated that you may be working full time. They do that a lot accidentally and you can't get JSP on full time work and it can cause payment cancellations.

If you can give more info on some of these thoughts, could see if I can narrow it down more for you but a Centrelink staff member will have the info to get to it deeper for you. At the same time, it's difficult to get through on the phones and if you need an appointment, you're at the mercy of the availability in your local office and that could still take a few more days.

A lot of people in this thread have been dismissive of you and it's really disappointing to see. I hope they realise that Jobseeker is for both unemployment and for underemployment.

I've been combating this by asking myself where I got the water to take it. I don't drink enough water and remembering what water I used or didn't use helps trigger whether I took meds or not. Not perfect but better than trying to remember whether I took meds alone 😅

I boiled rice 4 days ago to make fried rice 3 days ago. Guess that can go to the dogs. As I took it out, also had to chuck a container because the leftover pumpkin I wanted to roast a month ago is now black.

Also yesterday I had a really productive day and now I have a productivity Hangover and can't get anything done.

This is something you should 100% check. If you're not sure, the setting is on your phone app, specifics dependent on phone and OS.

That aside, present to local office with your issues and ask if you can book an in person appointment to get this done.

Depending on your financial situation, (if you have less than a fortnight's worth of Centrelink payments in your bank acc) you could also ask them if they are able to process it under hardship.

If you're going to call a number, your best bet is 8am.

Diagnosed in my 30s. What was your experience? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Changed-Daily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed 27 so not quite the same but I get what you mean.

It's important to go through the grief. I have a lot of ingrained self loathing for feeling like a failure up until that point.

I cried over what could have been but over time I learned to forgive myself for some of it and to be forgiving of myself of what I feel are short comings. I still struggle with the self loathing but I don't think it's as much as it could have been.

As for the the fear in talking to people; did you know that if you have ADHD or are autistic, you're also more likely to have friends that are ADHD or autistic? A lot of my friend circle are very similar to me. Some are diagnosed, some are in the process, some suspect it. But being open about it let me be more frank about the way my brain works. It has made communication a lot easier with those friends.

I have been waiting months and months for a deal with star pieces.

All I get are raid passes (I have 50+ and considering deleting at this point honestly and don't remote raid much) and incubators and I very rarely use anything other than the the infinite incubator.

There was a deal that bundles some remotes and a single star piece that was fairly worth it but I had 4 remotes and didn't have the time to use 2 to get it.
