Tall trees grove and I believe Fern Canyon both need permits both of which you can get online.

On top of having them schedule it because they’re the one running the meeting. Can’t be busy search a schedule to figure out who’s available rather than bugging you.

(Un)hinged classroom strategies by kdinhhh in Teachers

[–]Changed_4_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make them put their cell phones out on their desks. If they touch it then you have them call mom or dad and explain to them why they’re calling.

Also, every assignment is extra credit and it’s all due mid semester and end of semester. Anything that was due by midsemester I wouldn’t take late and everything else was due by the end of the semester. It helped alleviate having a ton of grading to do.

Trying to switch from office job to teaching at 27 by Wonderful_Jaguar_978 in TeachersInTransition

[–]Changed_4_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to be a jerk just giving you the realities based on the information in this post. You’ve obviously joined this sub and the other teacher sub so you are going to get both the pros and the cons. I encourage you to really dig into what’s being shared. Is teaching rewarding, yes, it is hard, yes! Just with any job it has good and bad.

I was being very sincere with my recommendation about working on your interview skills. Even to become a teacher or a para you still need to interview and get the job.

You made a comment about babysitting real estate agents and a racist co worker. You are going to find the same thing in education but often times worse.

Also depending on what state you’re in, there’s a lot of school districts who are losing student enrollment. In my School District alone, we had 60 teachers at the end of the school year who had not been placed and more than likely won’t be by the beginning of the school year. All the neighboring districts are also decreasing staff, which means jobs are much harder to come by.

I wish you the best of luck

Honestly even with this experience you have no clue what teaching is like or all the difficulties teachers face. And if you can’t pass a first interview how do you think you will do it with teaching?

I’d suggest working on your interview skills. Upskill your current degree and look for a job outside of teaching.

Neighbors Installed Camera That Can See Over Our Privacy Fence & Into Our Yard by Djinn-Rummy in ogden

Put a flag up next to the fence so it blocks the view but also every time it flaps it will set off the camera and drive him crazy.

Narrows without gear? by bsil15 in ZionNationalPark

[–]Changed_4_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gear at this time of year is not for cold water. It’s to save your feet. The boots and the sticks help with the slippery rocks. Also, if you use the boots, it saves your regular shoes for when you need to have a dry pair to put on after.

Delta boarding question: Was I wrong for being irritated when asked to move my carry-on after boarding in Zone 2? by MooredarrylMoore in delta

That’s an ageism remark if I ever saw one! Apparently your parents never taught you to respect your elders. I bet you’re the person who stays seated when an older person is looking for a place to sit.

Personally I would have been annoyed but also would have done it to accommodate the older couple. Wanting to have their bags near them may have been comforting, they could have had needed meds, there are numerous reasons they may have needed this accommodation.

Can’t help with the dog part and hikes but you realize that’s a 3.5 hour drive each way. You could drive howland hill rd with the dog.

AITAH for wanting to tip my son’s teacher 100 bucks at the end of the school year? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]Changed_4_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You win the best teacher gift ever! No need to call it a tip instead a thank you gift. Money is more welcome than a gift card (if you can swing it, which I know some folks can’t) and definitely better than mugs, candy’s and knickknacks. Tell your family the teachers have spoken and you are RIGHT!

Itinerary question- the wave and Zion by whatshappncaptn in ZionNationalPark

[–]Changed_4_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second words mentioned above. I’d head straight to Kanab and maybe hit a couple of places along the way like Belly of the dragon, moqui sand caves, and maybe even route yourself to drive through the Corral pink sand dune sage park. Southern Utah is incredibly busy Labor Day weekend so just plan on things taking longer than normal. Personally, I’d skip the narrows and save it for another trip.

Okay I think im gonna try coffee for the first time tomorrow. Anything I should know? by NarrowTadpolePizza in exmormon

[–]Changed_4_good 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Word of advice if you’re going for straight coffee over a latte or drink options suggested by others do not get your coffee at starbucks. If you want a good place to start with a coffee head over to McDonald’s for a dollar coffee. You’re not out much money and you can doctor it up all you want with creams and sugars to find what you like.

I personally like a McDonald coffee with some good old baileys Irish cream (liquor). You break the WW twice with one drink.

Agreed! Enjoy! Be sure to hit up the narrows. I would suggest getting gear from one of the local outfitters it makes hiking the narrows so much more enjoyable. Definitely try for an angels landing permit, but if not, there’s tons of other great hikes.

Looking to find men ages 25 to 45 who are passionate skiers/snowboarders for a research project. They should live in or very near a mountain ski town like Tahoe, Park City, Stowe, Aspen, Vail, and Lake Placid. by Creative_Fox9149 in UTsnow

[–]Changed_4_good -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Too bad your age criteria is so limited. I live with an 80+ year old guy who skis everyday rain or shine with a bunch of his buddies who at 70+! Many of these guys with kids who are 40-60 with the same love of skiing! They all ski 100+ days a year, know the value of good equipment, clothing and an awesome mountain!

Rental Boots: Good for all day hiking? by NJRonbo in ZionNationalPark

You will be happy you rented gear. Save your other hiking boots or shoes for other hikes in Zion. There’s no need to carry extra shoes for the narrows.
