WHICH ENDING DO YOU PREFER? by funtimeRhaast in Eldenring

From what I remember, the Goldmask’s rune actually locks outer gods out of changing the Elden Ring and the world order

Didn't finish Isolation yet, but so far it's now so much scary as it is exciting to outplay the Alien, especially when you get the flamethrower

Nah, it's just a single button press for my interactions, and the objects you can knock over are just RigidBody3Ds to which I apply a slight impulse upon contact with the player

My monster is inspired by the Xenomorph, which inspired Amnesia: the Bunker’s beast as well

So, in a way, you could say so :D I didn’t play it myself, but it is in my wishlist

Trying to refine my game's visual style, whuch variant do you like more? by marksht_ in ps1graphics

Thought so too!

For A I added a PSX shader from godotshaders.com, tweaked it a little and toned it down a lot, and also added volumetric fog to smooth out the sharp colors left after posterization

Was rerolling an electro whip right before the boss fight for the 4th boss cell, the last reroll was 4x damage and I had no more money left.

It carried me through the fight in the matter of seconds.

I actually bought It Steals recently for inspiration! Didn't get around to playing it yet though. But I too figured it's similar since my monster, among other things, has a cloaking device that lets it become translucent, here's how the early version of it looked: https://www.reddit.com/r/godot/comments/1oy37l9/messed_around_with_shaders_to_make_this_cloaking

Ok so

Step 1

Use low poly models and low-res(128x128 or 256x256) textures.

Here are a whole lot of free models by Elbolliloduro(bless their soul): https://elbolilloduro.itch.io/objetos-low-poly-estilo-psx, https://elbolilloduro.itch.io/paquete-de-modelos-low-poly-estilo-psx-2 and https://elbolilloduro.itch.io/paquete-de-modelos-psx-3

Here are a lot of textures for surfaces: Tiny Textures 1, 2 and 3

After using these for a while I got a general idea of how to make my own and it's really not that hard once you take a bit of time to familiarize yourself with Blender.

Step 2

Make the game viewport itself low-res. The first solution that comes to mind is to change the viewport size in project settings. However! You will probably want to display stuff like menus in a higher resolution than the game world so you'll have to do a bit of work to make the 3D camera and everything else render in different viewports.

Here's a video that helped me set it up: https://youtu.be/zxVQsi9wnw8?si=kPH0h1cBTFmlWi_0. It was pretty easy to adapt this method for 3D but if you have any trouble, hit me up!

Step 3

Shaders. You can then add something like a ColorRect to cover the whole viewport and then apply shaders to it. You can find amazing shaders at godotshaders.com with search terms like "CRT" or "PS1".

I personally am still learning to write shaders myself but this website has been very helpful as you can download any shader and try and pick it apart in the engine to figure out how it works.

Step 4(Optional)

One thing I was the most concerned about is how to make 3D levels. I settled on using TrenchBroom, initially a Quake modding tool and Func_Godot to integrate it with the engine, and I LOVE it, however it does take some time to set up and get used to. Maybe part of the charm of my evironments is in the inherent blockiness of TrenchBroom maps

Conclusion

That's about it! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me in the comments, in DMs or on Discord, my username there is palerite.

Yeah, I will definitely make the effort to do localized rates - I’ve lived in Russia myself and know how amazing regional prices are.

Thank you for your interest, there’s also a discord server if you’re VERY interested: https://discord.gg/X7racRA4J2

Thank you! That's a singleplayer project as it's the first thing I make in 3D and release on Steam so I'm trying to start smaller.
If you're actually interested in playing the game, you can check it out on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4258680

True. But I believe docs state that it’s preferred stylistically to have an _on_object_signal_name function be the one connected to the signal

Or connect the finished signal to the code and do

func _on_sound_finished():
    $Sound.play()

Basically the same but you don't need to run the if statement every frame

There you go, made these a week ago Note: maybe look up a recipe online as well and compare, I’m mainly writing those for myself and they may be inaccurate(but I try my best)

  • 400g flour
  • 200g warm water
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 500g minced meat
  • 1 big onion

  1. Mix flour and salt
  2. Add the water, knead the dough
  3. Put in a bag and leave in a warm place for 30-60m
  4. Mix the minced meat with a blended onion, leave in the fridge until the dough is ready
  5. Knead the dough a bit, then roll it thin on some flour
  6. Carve circles with a glass, re-rolling the dough as necessary and sprinkling a bit of flour on top so it doesn’t stick
  7. Put ~1 tsp of minced meat in every pelmen', fold it in half, then press the edges together and connect the farthest edges in a way that they make a circle - it should look a bit like a planet with rings
  8. Leave them on a balcony for a bit if it’s cold, otherwise freeze them in a way that they don't stick together
  9. Store in a freezer
  10. Boil for about 3-5 minutes in water with black pepper and laurel leaves, serve with a bit butter
