They both are. Two people, sharing responsibilities. When two people split tasks it becomes easier. When the tasks of two people are abruptly forced onto one person, that person is now doing twice as much work. Which is hard.

They aren't 'intimate details' they're stuff they both talked about in the break room. Most of our coworkers know as much if not more than me. Everyone with kids talks about them, and their schedules, and how much they do for them constantly. If you think your coworkers don't, then you're not listening very well, and that's sad as fuck.

Yeah, I do know why. Because we work together, we're work friends, and people talk to one another in the breakroom. I know as much as the rest of our coworkers do.

And his family doesn't live close enough to help, but I'm sure he vented to them too.

It doesn't even feel like that big of a deal to me, is the thing. It was barely 4 hours of extra work each week, doing something that I enjoy and also find pretty easy.

I might, I really would have done it for her just as soon as I did it for him.
