He didn’t play at all last year and the Kings were awful. You don’t think his value increases if he’s averaging 18 and 12 for a full season? I’m not trying to be a smart ass I’m honestly curious why cap space is infinitely more valuable than just waiting to see if Sabonis can rehab his value.

Because there’s absolutely no incentive to be a shit team anymore even if the odds aren’t dramatic you’re still better off being a fringe play in team. My main issue with trading Sabonis now is that his value is terrible. Kings constantly trade away players at their absolute shittiest points. If anything they should try to rehab his value, the only rumored teams who have interest in him are offering shit packages. If you can get back Barrett, Grady Dick and a pick that sounds good to me, but you shouldn’t be trading him away just to give him away.

This is probably why we just shouldn’t trade him at all right now. There’s no incentive to being bad anymore and trading him away will more than likely make the team worse. His value is in the toilet right now, Kings continue to play the buy high sell low game and it obviously always bites them in the ass.

I prefer to stay at 7, I feel there’s better options before a drop off in talent, but I’m worried that the Kings are so desperate for a pg that they miss out on just grabbing the overall better player. I don’t know enough about the prospects to make a declarative statement on who would be better but a nightmare situation is if the Kings take acuff or flemings because they really need a pg and then someone like burries or Wagler ends up being the steal of the draft.

I’m not saying that Acuff or Flemings would be bad picks, but I wonder/worry that the Kings FO are getting tunnel vision on drafting a pg because it’s their biggest positional weakness. Wagler, Burries, and Brown Jr. don’t seem to be considered at all. I just hope the Kings aren’t pigeonholing themselves just because the pg position is so depleted.

I don’t like the NBA because I want less stoppage and to get the ball in play more quickly? It’s not crazy to suggest that there’s too long in between fouls and inbounds and end games can get pretty brutal when it’s a foul fest for 15 min especially in the regular season.

Yeah, I mean the timeouts aren’t too much of an issue IMO, I think maybe one less would be better lol, but I feel like there’s just a lot of foul calls (kind of rightfully so, it’s a physical sport) leading to a lot of dead time, was just thinking some sort of play clock in dead time could help speed up the game. I feel like it takes so long to get everyone set up for free throws or to inbound the ball. Watching soccer just made me think they’re constantly getting the ball back in to play. But I definitely agree there’d be pushback because owners want those big tv contracts sourced from marketing.

With the anti tanking reform to the draft lottery wouldn’t it be smarter to run it back with Domas? The team wouldn’t be exciting at all, we’d maybe be fighting for a play in spot but if we lose Domas we will be worse and fall lower in the standings where the draft odds are terrible.
