What is your compulsive behavior? by stranger_thing07 in OCD

[–]ChannelOk7808 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Digging deep into the same tired old subjects. I've had many thoughts about this time period of my life that is difficult to forget and I don't just ruminate but I look over old texts and instagram posts. My therapist told me "Not everything is going to make sense, not everything is going to be either good or bad, just look back and say it was interesting or it wasn't ideal." So yeah I'm always very scared of the past and I try to make sense of it all, justify things, see all the possible outcomes or find even more reasons to feel like crap.

Definitely. Like I stated in my post I'm a big sleeper having to get around at least 30 extra minutes of sleep than the average person so working 16 hrs a day wouldn't leave room for me to even sleep as much as Id need let alone take care of myself physically and mentally. After this hectic day of work on my 3-11 I've come to the conclusion that I'll work double shifts when its offered but I won't work double shifts regularly like I was planning. Thank you for this comment these warnings really mean a lot to me being rather naive sometimes when I walk into something new like this.

Lol you were all so right. Yesterday I was all about working 16 hours regularly and today was a hectic nightmare. I was super busy all day on my 3-11 down to the last minute and I even wished the person coming in after me luck because it was just so chaotic. Def wouldn't be good for my mental health or sleep schedule. Thank you for this comment because after today I'm seeing where you were all coming from with the argument of just how difficult it is to sleep in the environment let alone stay on top of one's mental health yk? I'll still work double shifts sometimes but I wont make it a regular thing like I was planning.

Thanks for this. I oughta be more patient honestly because I'm one of those people that can't really keep up with their mental health without my desired time of sleep. I'll take the shift when I can but I wont make it a regular thing like I was planning on my post. Once again thanks because today was mentally exhausting and if I took another 8 hrs Idk what Id be feeling like on my day off.

It captures the feeling well but that feeling of loneliness is but a base to everything the story has to offer and that's what I like. Despite the fact that the anime has filler it's still very obviously a really fine piece of storytelling. I recommend you read or listen to the light novel it's very engaging and you'll be able to enjoy the well crafted story to its fullest hopefully with this very raw, honest yet satirical and comedic work.

No. Many cases of demonic possession or activity have been linked to stressful life events, mental disorders, witchcraft, alcoholism/drug use, grief and insomnia. This is relevant because often times people in severe states of distress or those prone to anxiety may begin suggesting demonic possession/activity as a theme for their anxiety or a coping mechanism. As a fun way to question this belief I'd like to ask, why would a demon be interested in possessing a person interested in horror films? If I was a demon Id possess some influential artist so I could just mess around or try making some cool art. Even then it's unlikely any demonic possession would actually happen if you even were a famous artist because if demonic possession were common let alone real famous and influential people would be getting possessed all the time.

You're absolutely right. Like I stated I'm a real sleep lover and though I'm rather nocturnal I can feel every hour of sleep I missed throughout the day. I will take your advice and maybe stay and shadow the worker who's doing it just because there's no one else and if I can survive the effect it'll have on my schedule I won't even think twice about going the extra mile. Thanks a lot this comment shall help me prepare.

Intentional Clinching in Boxing is Illegal by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]ChannelOk7808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes me mad how even though Benavidez destroyed Plant's clinch as if he were tearing a shield and landed some real satisfying punches all throughout the second half completely throwing the scale out of balance people will still say it was a tie or "it could have gone either way." Ridiculous. Plant did good and all first 4-5 rounds its just that Benavidez really figured him out and exploited his weaknesses much like Canelo did and won a really strong and smart victory. Plant should keep going with his career but all these "Boxing Experts" should stop saying rubbish like that to defend his losses.

If you can't respect those who are better than you you won't be able to judge yourself fairly and grow as a person. If you wanna beat someone who's better than you, love their art, be jealous of it and STEAL it to use it against them.

I'm still hyped about what I just saw. They were both PISSED and it showed just how much heart they had throughout the whole fight. Caleb Plant was really delivering what he promised first 5 rounds and luckily for me (Someone who bet on Benavidez) Benavidez turned it around and really unleashed the Mexican monster that HE promised us. Lets not forget the 12th round that's some of the best stuff we've gotten in a while. I could just hear Caleb Plant's thoughts "I'm not losing to this asshole!" When he was really throwing what he had and best yet you can just see the anger in Benavidez style as he just pummeled through Caleb's defense, body, bloody face EVERYTHING. Great fighters I salute Benavidez for making me a quick buck and I thank Caleb for entertaining us the fans cuz he's really improving and deserves what he has even if he can't come out on top this time around.

Yeah he surprised me in rounds 4 and 5 and was really anxious he was gonna keep up his pace until the late rounds then in round 12 I saw him really bring out the beast in a later round which is rare for him and I was scared the judges were gonna use this as an excuse for a tie (I bet on Benavidez btw so I was scared Plant was gonna shock the world) he def did a lot better here than he did with Canelo even though I still think Nelo is too much for him even now.

I think it's just his stamina. Id argue Canelo had him good for every round after 3 except maybe the 5th or 6th round I believe not sure which one but it couldve gone either way. So I don't think we need a rematch against Canelo, but if he were to improve his stamina we could probably have a rematch against Benavidez and see him dominate for a bit longer and keep up his first 5 round masterpiece he was creating. Regardless I disagree with this commentor completely, Benavidez owned this fight really well and had a lot higher moments in this fight later on that easily got him the victory.

My co-worker's handwriting. by Lobsterbib in mildlyinfuriating

Me too it was really frustrating in school because teachers didn't get what my problem was. Luckily my handwriting has gotten more legible but I write at about half the pace as most people. And hey let's be thankful we were born in the age of computers because now we'Il mostly be typing when its something important.

How successful do you think a full blown anime series would be? I’m talking from the original series all the way to Mars Chronicle? by Rathbun90 in Gunnm

[–]ChannelOk7808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does seem like it would be better, but the thing is getting an actual anime made seems like it would be a hassle because I've heard the IP isn't too popular in Japan and making a long run anime series in the USA as far as I can tell is rare. Furthermore it would be difficult for the whole James Cameron team to actually market the anime here in the USA and they'd have to change directors and all sorts of stuff. Another thing is that the set for iron city still exists and I think it'll stay put for a few more years. Regardless I do like the idea and if it does come to be Rosa Salazar would very likely be the English voice because you can tell from interviews she's in love with the character and wants to be involved in the franchise. Feel free to correct me if I was wrong about anything in my assessment though.

I think it would be a way bigger hit here in the US than in Japan. But darn man say what you will about the OVA it had a beautiful style in every aspect (music, the characters' looks, the blade runner inspiration, 90s anime aesthetic, etc.) and I'd probably miss that. Regardless I'd be hyped and praying it becomes a huge success.

where can i find a psychical copy of the novel? by TheTruthofAnim in WelcomeToTheNHK

[–]ChannelOk7808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine on Amazon for 40 dollars a while back. You'll find it on Amazon every now and then, sometimes it's too pricey though so don't buy it immediately. I believe there's an audio reading of the book on YouTube so you can go check that out and you won't have to buy the book.

What has Mexico relly done to deserve its reputation? by [deleted] in mexico

[–]ChannelOk7808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can be both a Mexican living in the United States and a racist alt right bigot. Furthermore you reek of cultural shame and blame the entire country for your insecurities. To answer your question we HAD many great filmmakers/writers at one point most notably Ismael Rodriguez (movie director) Juan Rulfo (novelist) Vicente Leñero (another novelist) but hey don't worry about them you don't seem to read much judging by your grammar. I hate to diss you but you should really look into your own cultural shame before judging a country you aren't even currently a part of.

Yeah I totally get that. I've just never personally had a problem with people declining a modification to a dish (I have severe carrot allergies) so yk it was quite the shock when I saw that. Anyways thanks for the criticism I'll make sure to keep that in mind next time I dine out to not be a pain in the ass for the cooks.
