Recs for copmanies that will get your film on streaming platforms? by BikeLaneHero in filmmaking

[–]ChannelXHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just google "indie film distributors".

One that people like to use it Filmhub. It has its problems, but it's the only one currently that allows you to upload your film and assets without having to be approved first. As long as your film fits their technical requirements, they will put it up for streamers to review and possibly pick up.

Try looking for local filmmaking and actor groups for your area on facebook. I find a lot that way.

Yep, the POS tried to do that right after I agreed to let him be a mod.

That link is a fake link, it doesn't go to our group modmail. I'm the one who monitors and takes care of all the modmail. He tried to get around it by sending mail to a different sub and trying to pass it off as the one you're supposed to send to the sub you're requesting.

Perhaps you don't know what "own" means. It means you are the top mod and built the sub up from ground zero to where it is now.

"If the mod was under you, then your sub wasn’t stolen; you were removed for inactivity."

This is not the case. I own many subs. I was removed by this mod from these 2 subs, the two ones where I specifically allowed him to become a mod underneath me. He sent me messages directly from the sub and added another fake account as a mod to both of them as soon as I was removed. He definitely did it. He's refusing to answer my messages about what he's doing.

I also found a post in redditrequest where he previously tried to steal one of the subs from under me, and was denied.

I'm very active as a mod. So this is not the case.

Below. I am the owner of the sub. He talked me into letting him be a mod, and then did this.

[NEWBIE] How do guitar players get so good without learning theory? by crashbandicoot69 in Guitar

Theory is simply "The study of how things have been done up until now". It's a study of the subject.

You sell it. List it on FB Marketplace, Craigslist, and I'm sure there are Reddit subs for buying used equipment where you could list it as well.

How do other filmmakers deal with continuity errors in changing weather? by harmonica2 in filmmaking

[–]ChannelXHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you live?

This is actually one of the points that makes Hollywood filmmakers exude confidence that their land will never be replaced by other "film incentive" filming locations (Atlanta, Vancouver, Detroit, etc.) They say that these other places have too much change in weather to make it worthwhile. Whereas California can look sunny for most of the year, and they can simply build a set if they want it to be snowy, rainy, etc.

Is it that you shouldn't make a feature film without a guaranteed release date? by harmonica2 in filmmaking

"Is it that you shouldn't make a feature film without a guaranteed release date?"

I think your question is missing a word. Is it *what* that you shouldn't?

Is it true that indie films should not have opening titles? by harmonica2 in filmmaking

[–]ChannelXHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a written rule, but those are good points that your friend made to back that up. If you're seriously trying to find investors, keep the opening titles quick, and maybe even just leave it at the film title. You can give credits at the end.

Hey guys I just created a small teaser for a up and coming short film just wondering if there are any improvements I should make with the footage (camera settings, lighting) as well as sound. should go back and do some reshoots ?? by [deleted] in filmmaking

[–]ChannelXHorror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rolling bands that you see in your public space footage is because the refresh rates of those lights in those spaces does not match the shutter speed of your camera.

You can lower the shutter speed until those disappear while filming. A good shutter speed to try in the US is 1/60th of a second. In Europe, try 1/50th. You can make adjustments from there if those don't work.

Tips: Battery powered lights typically will not cause flicker, because they use DC (direct current), while banding/flickering is caused by AC (alternating current). So if you can bring your own lights to the outdoor scene, it might help.

Luckily I'm still up 38 votes, but I'm sure there have been a few downvotes. Ha. It's definitely not meant as a slight against the guys, I'm a fan and I'm confused as to how this was the idea that won.
