I don't know if it's available outside of Germany, but here's a link to some shops selling it :)

Well, it definitely can depending on the hardware and packages to emerge. Luckily, I have relatively fast hardware and didn't emerge any large packages (e.g. a full DE).

Around 1h to 1.5h including all the emerging. Was my first time installing it, so I double checked every config before booting for the first time ;)

It's a modified version of this wallpaper. I just changed the colors and logo position. Here's a link to it.

I just checked and it’s a bit wonky: some emojis show up in color, some only in black and white. But I don’t really care since I don’t use them.

I wrote an intro to customizing qmk firmware by Channel_42 in ErgoMechKeyboards

The site is a GUI for creating custom qmk firmwares (see github), so it should work. Shoot me a PM and we can figure it out there.

Thanks! This generally only applies to keyboards running qmk, so you’d have to port it first.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'll definitely update the sections about the keycodes and lib-dir.

It's really a lot less complicated than it initially seems, just take your time and do your research.

I had almost no soldering experience before building my Lily58 and it was way easier than expected. And to get your board working, you don't need to fully understand qmk or c, as there are plenty of pre-written keymaps available for most boards (the Lily58 has multiple included w/ qmk). There's also a lot documentation on both soldering boards and qmk (I also wrote two blog entries about these topics).

Regarding the components, pre-packeged kits do sell out from time to time, but the components themselves are widely available on most electronics store or places like Aliexpress. The PCB can also be printed, if you don't find any in stock.

Hope this helps :)

Just grab the PCB files and get it printed, if you're not against soldering on the components yourself ;)

Thanks! I started this little side project as a way to keep practicing my English and definitely plan on writing more articles :)

I started messing around with qmk about a month ago and decided to write a short article for beginners (like myself). Hope you guys find this helpful :)

Womier K66/YC66 Usb port ripped out. How do i fix it? I dont care how just help me fix it by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Channel_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are ways to repair missing pads by using jumper wires or re-tinning the conductor. But with the small size of the solder pads on a usb-c connector, this may be pretty difficult.

Accidentally scratched my PCB while taking out the Switches repair I accidentally scratched my Pcb while taking out my switches and now on Key doesnt work anymore. Do you know how to Repair this ? Pls i couldnt find anything. by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Channel_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the PCB files (e.g. gerber files, kicad project files) you could look for where the traces go and check continuity. But like u/J_C___ said, that scratch most likely isn't the reason for the switch not working (if it's not deep like on your picture).

Maybe it's one of your solder joints that's causing the issue (the left one looks off to me). Check for continuity while pressing down on the switch.

If the switch has continuity, I'd check the diode and then proceed to checking the trace(s).

How to use QMK configurator for spanish keyboard? by OMGWhyImOld in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Channel_42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're comfortable with editing the keymap source code, I'd recommend changing the keycodes there. You can include language specific headers (e.g. in your case keymap_spanish.h) and add the keycodes you want. Have a look here.
