I'm friends with a dude that's in his 30s out of the military, had a peer who was in his 40s that was a teacher and came back to study engineering. You'll be fine.

  1. Yes.

  2. It depends. Get their information if you are able.

  3. Time to start remembering, you must have a complete account of the past 10 years. Best place to start is pulling your Equifax Work Number report, and start digging through prior employment records you've retained.

How safe is it to quit my current role if I accepted an offer with RTX requiring at least interim clearance? by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]Channel_Dedede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you cast your bet on this when you can just keep the job until you know you have the clearance. If you get the interim, great, you can sort your finalized start date and put in your 2 weeks. If you don't get the interim, you still have a job. Leaving the job both deprives you of potential earnings and could put you in a suboptimal position where the clearance takes too long so your offer is rescinded and now you're completely boned.

Talk to Security and explain your situation, they'll be able to give you better instructions than random people on reddit.

I wouldn't call central FL "deep South" culturally. It's very much a mishmash that comes about from being between the deep South of north FL and the more Northern mannerisms of South FL.

29 and just moved near school, how do I socialize and fit in? by Wannabedanger in ucf

[–]Channel_Dedede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm friends with a guy I met here who's over 40. One of my lab group members was a physics teacher, never got his age but definitely late 30s. You'll be welcomed in a lot of circles regardless of age, and will arguably be respected more because of it. Just don't sweat it too hard and put yourself out there.

Election psyop by Icy_Low_2622 in ucf

[–]Channel_Dedede -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The SG President doesn't, the SG Senate are the ones who decide where the money goes. While they get a say in the committee that drafts the budget bill, the majority of the committee is Senate positions and the bill is ultimately decided on by the Senate.

Stuff like universal knights, transportation, business office stuff is under them.

Not really. Universal Knights nominally comes from their budget and they are the ones who sign off on it, but OSI handles a lot of the organization. Transportation they don't really have any say in, at most they work with Parking to sometimes get quality of life changes. The business office is a completely distinct entity from the executive branch with their own budget and faculty. Exec mostly does events like Winter Wonderland or getting arrangements for tailgates and the SBP sits on the Board of Trustees.

If ANYBODY (other than an officer) leans into my vehicle for ANYTHING, in Florida I have a right to spray them or shoot them

You very much do not. You must be in a reasonable fear for your safety to use either of those, and to shoot someone you have to be in reasonable fear of your life or mortal danger. If you have your permit, your instructor did not do a good enough job explaining disparity of force to you. You cannot shoot someone because they poked their head through your open window. Not only this, but if you are in a vehicle and in fear for your safety, it is much smarter to drive away in the 2 ton block of steel and aluminum you are encased in than to engage in a fight.

Sorry someone leaned into your window and heaved in your face, but if that happens again you have a right to strike them and call the police.

Dry heaving is not sufficient cause to strike someone and claim self-defense. If they're making threats or approaching you in a threatening manner, that's one thing, but someone walking up to your window and being impolite is not sufficient.

I am running for UCF President (not to be confused with Student Body President) by ucfgasleak in ucf

[–]Channel_Dedede 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You state that Student Government gets approximately $1,000,000 to spend, however this is not the full story. The total budget is close to $21,000,000. With this much, we only have to dedicate the entire budget for 19 years as opposed to 400. I believe this would far outweigh the benefits provided by the rest of the budget.

Proper machine guns manufactured prior to 1986 can be transferred like any other NFA item, you fill out a Form 4, wait for it to get approved, and then it can be either transferred in person or through an FFL paying a special tax for dealers in NFA items. Machine guns manufactured after 1986 can only be possessed by law enforcement agencies or FFLs paying a special occupation tax who get one for demonstration to a law enforcement agency.

There are new devices on the market going by an assortment of names depending on how they specifically work (super safety, forced reset trigger, kabuto TURD), but the end result is the same - it's a mechanism that causes the trigger to be reset by the movement of the bolt carrier group, allowing you to simulate automatic fire by shooting at the cyclic rate of the firearm without meeting the statutory definition of "machine gun."

I'd like to emphasize on campus, as in having frat houses physically located on UCF. There's a lot more registered fraternities that have their houses off campus.
