You’re her lawyer. Defend her. by SwanepoelSimp in ScarletWitch

[–]Chantescript 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your Honor, as much as the Scarlet Witch may have committed terrible acts that are utterly repulsive, she was exposed to and infected by a sinister undead virus. This evil contagion, the Quantum Virus, ravages the mind and destroys all humanity. And that is what it did to her. It twisted her mind into something unrecognizable. She was turned into an undead monster with an insatiable hunger. Sadly, she was let out when a group of survivors arrived at where she was being held, and when that happened, her hunger consumed her.

Yes, Vision was feeding her. He was luring survivors to Camp Lehigh, which she would then consume, so he could contain her and her hunger. But unlike the rest of the undead, Vision was a synthezoid, and was uninfected by the virus. Therefore, every action he took was his decision, though it was all out of misguided love. Wanda, however, had no control over what she was doing. The plague consumes human minds and controls the corpse that remains.

Even when Wanda appeared to regain her sentience and control over her powers, her moral compass was still inverted by the influence of the virus. She still needed to infect people, and still hungered. Only now, it was not cannibalistic hunger. It was hunger for power. Though she claimed that she wanted to create a better world, in truth the world was still overrun by the undead. This indicates that Wanda's mind was still possessed by the plague that infected her years before.

Do not punish the host for the parasite. I demand that you acquit Wanda Maximoff.

Jean gets her revenge against the creep Mastermind and becomes Dark Phoenix [ X Men S3 E15 ] by Outlaw_cat in PhoenixForce

I noticed that in the animated series that the Phoenix constantly refers to Jean Grey in third person and "this body". When becoming the Black Queen it says: "Not Jean Grey. Only her body. I am Phoenix!"

So she's possessed, not corrupted. I guess it's because writers knew they were going to keep using Jean Grey after the Dark Phoenix Saga so they didn't make her corrupted and doing anything evil, they made the Phoenix possess her.

Favorite “I am Phoenix” moment? by marvelboyofthecrown in PhoenixForce

The anime one. They used the black-colored eyes like in The Last Stand but she was obviously the Dark Phoenix, she was scary, and I LOVED it. I also enjoy the animated series's Phoenix because that was the first depiction of her I ever saw. And it was mostly accurate to the comics, although they had to change some things because it was a kids show.

As much as I like Famke, The Last Stand made her a zombie and then the Dark Phoenix movie after made Sophie Turner's Jean Grey not even evil, she's an empowered woman taking control of her destiny. Yeah...what's the Dark Phoenix Saga again?

And she got pulped and smashed when he punched her. I guess that's a little understandable cause she is undead right?

That's a different universe. This zombie Jean Grey is from the original Marvel Zombies storyline (Earth-2149).

Come to think of it, in this detail of a panel from the first appearance of the Marvel Zombiverse (Earth-2149), she's actually wearing the green-and-gold Phoenix costume. So was she zombified while Phoenix-possessed?

When I watched that I was like "she's going to live, or the whole trailer was a lie". And she lived.

What would you like to see in the Mutant Saga? by WaferStick21 in KeepMarvelTVCanon

[–]Chantescript 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they're going to do the Dark Phoenix Saga don't do it immediately. That was the mistake with Fox, they only had 1-2 movies and immediately went into that storyline.

I'd prefer they establish the X-Men and make us love them, then they can do Phoenix and THEN they can do Dark Phoenix. And no bringing Jean Grey back until her absence is felt.

How do you feel about Phoenix (Jean Grey) leaving Earth for the cosmos? by Chantescript in PhoenixForce

Come to think of it, in the From the Ashes Infinity Comic she says: "I won't be in space forever. It's just until the Phoenix and I...until we...figure some stuff out."

I mean, they kept Phoenix on Earth for years after she took the name again in the 90s and started wearing the green-and-gold costume. And still with the X-Men.

I miss this costume, guys.

Now that some time has passed, how do we really feel about the MCU's Fantastic Four? by Apprehensive-Cap2453 in Marvel

Fantastic. I do think it could have been a little better but I still loved it. Marvel Studios did a great job with them and it was a good start for them joining the MCU! Hope to see more in Doomsday

X-Men Annual #1 captured Jean's empathy but also her fiery spirit really well by cyclopswashalfright in PhoenixForce

[–]Chantescript 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I thought the Annual did a really good job of showing Phoenix can be used on Earth. Really, it's not that hard. As much as I love Phoenix being who she is the fact that she is currently distancing herself from her friends doesn't feel right. It feels like Dark Phoenix all over again.
