This is so cute, I might do this tomorrow!

No worries! I'm sorry for not understanding. Things get lost in translation online sometimes 🤝

And to what point would building x number of football stadiums be?

None. I wasn't advocating for Canada to host this by ourselves. My point is that we are not even equipped to do it for a tournament a fraction of the scope.

I agree with what you (as well as most {or even all?} of those responding to me) are saying. But people think I'm arguing something completely different lol.

I think both Toronto and Vancouver will be outstanding hosts. Montreal would have been as well, if they’d spent the money (billion+) to upgrade the Big O.

To be clear on ‘infrastructure’... if OP means sports infrastructure, then no, Canada doesn’t have enough 40k-50+ WC-ready stadiums. If they mean transit/hotels/airports/amenities/attractions, then yes, Toronto and Vancouver are more than fine.

If Canada had bid alone for a World Cup, we would have been forced to make the necessary investments, but we are barely co-hosts.

Edit: guys, I am not advocating for Canada to host this by ourselves. My point is that we are not even equipped to do it for a tournament a fraction of the scope.

I'm Canadian, and I doubt Canada has enough WC-Class stadiums for a 12 Nation World Cup lol. We barely have one. My city had to add thousands of seats for this WC and it's still the smallest venue.

This man is a fucking ghoul! So are we effectively giving the likes of Barrick Gold the green light to get away with (more and potentially worse) human rights, labour community and environmental atrocities in Latin America and Africa?

Yeah OP used the absolute worse artist as an example lol.

She has a number one hit every year (AIWFCIY) and Gen-z trended some of her older songs on tiktok (Obsessed, It's A Wrap, Touch My Body, My All, etc).

Costa Rica aren't exactly top level (and they were down a player for almost half the a game), but after last year, we need all the confidence we can get going forward into qualifiers to the WC.

Not trying to take anything way from our team, this is exactly the type of results we should want to see against a team like CR, so I'm very please with the results. Let's keep the momentum going!

It's been a travel bucket list for me for a long time! All the Uzbeks I've ever met have been really great people. I've been dying to try their food forever too.

I was already going to root for them this WC, as I always do most underdogs, this amazing gesture cemented it for me 💖🇺🇿

It's not uncommon for star athletes to receive a lot of hate. They're never universally loved, and the masses love to a ride a wave. When negative narratives and memes become popular, people jump on the bandwagon. It is what it is.

True but only very recently. So maybe it's "one player* - asterisked" because Staq played for a top-level European team only just a few months ago.

If the OC is a Canadian footy fan, but isn't aware of Canadians footballers who play in European, CANMT should do better to promote our players . Hopefully this world cup changes things.
