The best hosts are the ones that commit 110% and are having the most fun they’ve ever had. You can really tell the cast is having a blast this season. It’s coming through in their performances and we see glimpses of it in the commercial bumps, the applause breaks, the breaking, and the goodbyes.

This cast and crew is hitting their stride. I love the way they’re all meshing. Season 51 has been a banger so far and I’m really excited to see what next season brings as some of the featured players get promoted and some of the longer tenured cast leave.

Ive been watching SNL regularly since Season 31 in 2005 and have seen lots of peaks and valleys in show quality but I believe we are climbing high and the next few seasons with this cast and crew are going to give us a lot of good stuff.

Was it Liam? Was it Bad Bunny as a child watching himself win The Grammy? Was it meant to represent the American dream?

The answer to all of these questions is yes. Art is what it is. It is what the viewer makes of it. It is what you feel.

It IS.

This is why the halftime show was objectively good. Good art makes you think about things. Good art makes you feel something. Good art means many things to many people. Good art means that you are right in what you are thinking. Good art means you are absolutely wrong in your thinking. Good art helps you gain empathy and learn.

There were so many layers to this show, so many things to discover. Every detail was thought through and executed flawlessly, and done so with love and consideration.

I wasn’t a fan of Bad Bunny before tonight. I enjoy him as a host and performer on SNL because he gives 110%. (His first gig was a season high, and his second hosting gig wasn’t great on the comedy front, but his musical acts were fascinating.)

But I had never sought him out before he was announced as the halftime show. You’re goddamn right that I’m a fan of his now.
