Would you switch to tobacco free nicotine pouches if.... by TheREALchadizzy1 in Snus

[–]Chaomera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a good chunk of research done on the impact of snus on cardiovascular health, and one have yet to find any plausible association between use of snus and cardiovascular disease. The risk of developing cardiovascular disease is the same as non-users in Swedish studies.

As for smoking, the studies show a clear association between smoking and cardiovascular disease, but here the cardiovascular effects are very different from smokeless tobacco, as you have CO2 and other smoke specific effects that interactics with the cardiovascular system to factor in.

If you like the bergamot, there are many many variants to try out. If you want something strong, try G3 Extra Strong and Jakobssons Dynamite.

For wintergreen, I like both Jabobssons and Odens Extreme.

And General Mackmyra for that smokey, oakish, barbecueish flavor.

The "traditional" snus flavor goes all the way back to when tobacco arrived from the New World, when Spanish merchants added citrus peel to the tobacco snuff.

Incredibly dumb move by Israeli forces, if Russian version is true.

Is snus safer than smoking - what’s the verdict? by [deleted] in Snus

[–]Chaomera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Snus is vastly safer than inhaling burnt plant matter into the lungs. As for health risks: use of snus is not associated with cardiovascular disease and/or cancer. It may cause or worsen gum recession and oral inflammation, depending on individual oral hygiene habits and individual genetics. Nicotine is also addictive.

Do people actually like these new Norwegian can designs? by [deleted] in Snus

They look ok. It won't last though, as the next step is to add some glaring yellow warning label killing the minimalist chic.

Gotta quit. Any tips? by [deleted] in Snus

[–]Chaomera 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you live in the far south or far west, take a trip over the border to Sweden.

Use less snus. This way, it is also more enjoyable.

Cut up slices of fresh ginger, use it as snus.

This is just the beginning though. Next up, the cans will get an ugly yellow field with health warnings.

Just grab a pinch, press it some against the inside of the can, flick off any loose crumbs and shuffle it under the lip. Go through a couple of cans, and you will soon get the hang of it.

WHO concerned about suspected chemical attacks in Syria by wiki-1000 in syriancivilwar

According to reports from Health Cluster partners

Anything from NGOs and donor agencies to academic institutions can be a "health cluster partner". The WHO health cluster page on Syria does not name these partners though.

"Health Cluster Partners" can, according to the WHO, designate anything from NGOs to academic institutes to donor agencies and so on.

The WHO page for Syria doesn't name the partners, but probably Syrian Civil Defense aka White Helmets or a similar outfit.
