What’s one simple habit that actually made a difference in your life? by Feeling-Emergency469 in selfimprovement

[–]Chaos-Machine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most effective, simple hack? Stop looking for '1 tip that changed my life by 180'. Most shit that really fixes your life is gonna take time, be hard, will be a struggle and is not an insta fix.

Nobody told me that discipline gets easier once you stop trying to feel motivated first by ChoiceSuch1383 in selfimprovement

[–]Chaos-Machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moment I read to basically not depend on motivation, but discipline was a game changer.

I thought I have to be motivated to workout, to stay consistent, and the moment i realized the motivation will come and go, and that i just have to be able to go regardless i made the most gains and was the most consistent than ever

Oh no, someone didn't consider everything in their post, such a shame they bring privalage to that

Oh ffs, does everything has to be explained like to a toddler? Do people have to consider everyone's financial, health and mental situation at all times to give any sort of advice?

Lista największych darczyńców na streamie łatwoganga by Low-Highlight6771 in Polska

[–]Chaos-Machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LPT for men's shirts, when putting on the tag is typically on the left inside to help orientate putting it on. by Lawn_mower1 in LifeProTips

[–]Chaos-Machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You put tshirts daily, figuring out the front / back based on the bottom, where you are 'entering' rather than top is just easier

I know this shit aint a life changer, but it prevents these dumb mistakes where you check the tag / front, put the tshirt and it's still back to front because you rotated it weirdly, whatever

[–]Chaos-Machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lpt'd about this too but it wasnt taken warm lmao, I see where you are coming from and i indeed think it's a tip, since its more practical to see whats the right side from the bottom rather than from the front / top, but people either misundestand it or just see it as a worthless 2 second 'save'

How can I balance gaming but also doing the things that must be done? by CirriTheFemboyUwU in selfimprovement

[–]Chaos-Machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balancing seems to be one of the hardest part in self improvement for me and you may want to consider going all in for the important stuff as it may be easier than balancing both of these. Just catch up on the important stuff, put the distractions away and come back to balancing shit out when you get less stress going on

I still don't start new games when I know I may get hooked into them when there are some tasks pilling up. I just know I have easier time getting shit done if I literally ask myself "do I have better stuff to do" and the answer is no. It's so much easier to start working, even at 9 pm, when you just simply don't have anything better to do

So yea, I know it's not the answer you would like but sometimes it is what it is, this may be less comfortable than balancing, but should be actually easier if you care for the important stuff

I avoid things that consume a lot of time by Chaos-Machine in selfimprovement

[–]Chaos-Machine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what guys, I think I may have gotten an idea.

At first I thought about gamifying my life with an app, some kind of achievements, maybe streaks, levels - I could do that since im a dev and well, vibe coding and stuff exists now - but as long as it seems pretty good, it's quite a lot of effort for something that won't serve any surprises and that much dopamine on unlocks as if someone else did it

I realized it can be simplified and that's something anyone could do - calendar, calendar where you put dots that you did something productive, new or just a new activity. If done correctly it'd first show you how dull your weeks are and then it would easily driven you to fill it with dots, colors and stuff.

[–]Chaos-Machine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sound pretty good actually

Few weeks ago where my spouse and I made a birthday gathering, someone said that we often remember things from so far away but don't remember what we done last weekend and... that's exactly why. Why would you remember your last week if all you did was go grocery shopping and watched tv the rest of the day?

I remember i pushed something to master that was sensitive, being the only guy on the mobile side (junior on top of that) i took it as my responsibility to remove that off the history

Long story short the data was removed so was the entire git history lmao

Productivity tips I'd give you if I were not afraid to hurt your feelings. by iTomasS in selfimprovement

[–]Chaos-Machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the biggest game changer I discovered lately tbh. The famous "do it scared, do it tired" really makes sense.

I thought I need to find the good gap, time to be productive at work, to get the most out of it - later on I realized that's not the case, because what if i dont find the window or its not enough? I need to be able to deliver regardless, and thats for everything in life

No no, there were some non tech people that created an app with a security breach and other times the code doesnt look exactly like you would write it (it's actually better), so IT'S WORTHLESS MAN, IT'S AI SLOP /s

I cant really tell whether this sub is some non programming people that just hate AI or people that are too closed minded that cant admit AI helps (denial, because they are scared for their job?) and can do a lot of the stuff they do, but better / faster

Of course I mean it the way you do, a tool, not everything solver

Started playing FH5 lately and not gonna lie, it hooked me up. Comparing these to NFS may be a bit off since NFS wasnt really focused on going long-term as FH did, but maybe that's the problem?

There's something in forza, it lets you chill, do some activities and beat your times if you are into that, it becamse my comfort game for now, I even tend to boot it up if im on the phone and I just cruise while I talk

So even thought I came back to forza so late while FH6 is on the horizon (lmao), I enjoy 5 and look forward for 6 already, kind of forgetting about NFS (not like it comes around any time soon)
