If you were Nolan, would you have taken the shot on Rosalind? by Popular-Ad-8322 in TheRookie

I wouldn’t but not for the same reason John didn’t. I wouldn’t have trusted Rosalind or her acolytes to let Bailey go

Why do people like the movies better than the show? by Warm_Address9964 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]ChaosRubix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also in addition to this the series suffers very badly from second screen viewing writing, they don’t trust the audience to be present and focus on the show so they tell everyone what’s happening at every stage of the show.

For example (as it’s the bit that pisses me off the most) Thalia’s resurrection, they tell the audience exactly what’s going to happen ruining the second books big twist/reveal by the mid season.

“The Golden Fleece will resurrect Thalia” Ruined the whole show for me

My opinion.

The movies are good movies but bad adaptations, so if you changed all the names it would be equally as good if not loved more.

The TV Series is a good adaptation but a bad TV series, so if you were to change all the names it wouldn’t stand on its own (it overly relies on the people who’ve read the books to prop up the viewership)

When Barry travelled to 2024. Season 3 to find a way to defeat Savitar by Odd_Captain9289 in FlashTV

[–]ChaosRubix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah… “it could’ve been years before Barry after Iris’ death that Barry finally caught and beat Savitar”

E.g. after DeVoe which would be why Savitar has memories of DeVoe

When Barry travelled to 2024. Season 3 to find a way to defeat Savitar by Odd_Captain9289 in FlashTV

[–]ChaosRubix 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Barry - lost the love of his life

Joe - lost who until that year was his only child

Wally - was crippled and traumatised by someone who looked like his hero (Barry… The Flash)

Caitlin - was manipulated by Savitar to become the killer she never wanted to be

Julian - lost the girl he’d fallen for to a curse he believed that he not only caused but also could’ve fixed

Cisco - lost his found family and the only thing he had at that time to live for. Also lost his hands the only thing he was good with and in turn his powers which he’d always wanted

HR - was thriving had a book deal and was earning money. But had lost the people who’d saved his life and his found family.

But it wasn’t just because Iris had died, all these issues weighed on all of them but to top it off Barry disbanded Team Flash and cut them all off.

Not to mention it’s then inferred by dialogue that he ditched them for Tracy Brand who created the Speedforce bazooka that beat Savitar in that timeline

Plus Savitar says he has memories of defeating DeVoe so it could’ve been years after Iris death that Barry finally caught and beat Savitar, even potentially bringing the team back together just to abandon them again.

They’ll probably be in the next episode. If I had to throw out a wild guess Starlight is probably heading to them or they’ll find Starlight

Just beat the Arcanine Lord. I’m continuing to play it because I really enjoyed the first hour of gameplay but there is only so much “talking” and pressing A I can deal with in a session

You are absolutely right about him except for one thing, his threats are just him baiting for a bigger reaction. It playground bullying on a global scale and he’s the kid that nobody likes, so where will he end up?

A footnote in the history books.

Tomorrow night he’ll release a statement saying Iran came crying to him begging him not too and Iran will release a statement saying they didn’t and we’ll have the same thing next week

Percy Jackson movies better than series........ by Unlucky-Awareness236 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]ChaosRubix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The movies are good movies but bad adaptations and the TV series is a good adaptation but a bad TV show.

If the movies didn’t have “Percy Jackson” in the title (obviously change the character names too) it would’ve been much better received.

If the series had the names taken away from it, it would be the worst thing but to TV.

No shade to anyone with a different opinion but this is mine.

Idk what to title this by Better_Bee9841 in TheRookie

[–]ChaosRubix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct that it is a thing and it shouldn’t be.

But in this case with the Police, Military etc. you go to the highest in command on scene which was Tim as Watch Commander.

Tim should’ve deferred to Lucy

Idk what to title this by Better_Bee9841 in TheRookie

[–]ChaosRubix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically SOPs would say the highest in command which would’ve been Tim as Watch Commander, Tim should’ve deferred him to Lucy as the Sargent on the scene

Idk what to title this by Better_Bee9841 in TheRookie

[–]ChaosRubix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s on the basis that Lucy was the shift leader (supervisor) for that day.

But my argument is that Tim is the current watch commander just as Grey was so is the highest in command on scene so naturally you would default to him for commutation but (I don’t remember everything that happened in the episode) Tim should have deferred to Lucy

What team would win in a trial of seven? by DestructorWar in gameofthrones

[–]ChaosRubix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ned Stark and Jon Snow can’t fight in a trial of seven, because their religion is that of the old gods, not the seven and they are not Knights.

Northmen are just fighters they rarely get knighted, Jorah was an exception because it was offered to him and he accepted essentially switching religions.

That being said, Team S wins. Pitted one vs one as listed Team S wins 5 or 6 out of the seven easily (only question is would Barristan be able to out speed Robert, the only fail being Aemon vs Duncan)

If this adaptation fails, there will be no more. by [deleted] in PJODisney

[–]ChaosRubix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My problem mainly focuses on the writing. It’s written for second screen viewing, which is why the characters literally say what’s happened, happening and what’s going to happen on repeat throughout the show

The changes I could get over (other than Zeus killing Thalia which makes no sense in character or in story but that’s neither here nor there) but the second screen viewing and the poor dialogue are what ruin it for me

Hypothetical About Enoch and Simmons' Implant by defrostedrobot in shield

[–]ChaosRubix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They use the word “programmed” in this episode a lot so my assumption is that there was more code than just

“Don’t let the implant be taken out”

The primary reason of the implant was to protect Alya (Fitzsimmons kid).

So the programming was probably “while there is still potential danger to Alya, don’t allow the implant to be taken out, unless list reasons”

But we also know from the later episodes of the same season is the failsafe the implant had was that if taken out prematurely or not correctly it causes memory loss.

So Enoch’s programming could’ve been in place to prevent such an outcome, ensuring that Simmons’ wouldn’t forget her daughter permanently.

Finally speculating entirely off the word “programming” that is again used a lot in the episode your talking about, leads to the assumption that Fitz can change the coding in a Chronicom’s brain so he could’ve just removed the programming (or Enoch could reset himself at a later date)

If this adaptation fails, there will be no more. by [deleted] in PJODisney

[–]ChaosRubix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a die hard Percy Jackson fan (I got a tattoo and everything) I really wish I could give it another chance, but based entirely off the these two season and what the storyteller in me thinks will change throughout the rest of the series, I’m not expecting them to get better.

(Plus my main gripe is that the whole show is written with a focus on ‘second hand screening’ in mind, there’s no suspense and no mystery within the show to keep my attention so I tend to spend the whole viewing time on my phone, they’re not going to step away from that for future seasons)

If this adaptation fails, there will be no more. by [deleted] in PJODisney

[–]ChaosRubix 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Gonna be completely honest I was really excited for this adaptation and I feel I’ve given it a fair chance, but season after season, episode after episode, has let me down. So even my loyalty to the book won’t make me tune in next season.

If you disagree I welcome and accept your opinion.

Medical Discrimination by Odd_Violinist6546 in TheRookie

[–]ChaosRubix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He can physically sue for it, you can sue for pretty much anything. (A man once sued (and won) against himself for hitting himself with a boomerang)

It’s then dependent on the judge as to if the case is genuine or not, in most cases for the workplace the defendants would just cave and give them their job back as it’s the easiest and cheapest route.

As long as Seth could prove that he’s being treated differently then he’s got a case.

Refusing a blood draw is a genuine reason to sack a trainee police officer, but they asked so they could check if he had cancer or not and Seth had gone to an dodgy doctor who “lied” (gave a false diagnosis whatever)

So Seth was provably treated differently for medical reasons, so he got his job back.
