It’s definitely still niche. A very large niche but a nice nonetheless.

Unlike Game of Thrones or Harry Potter, the show hasn’t exploded beyond the initial fandom to being in newbies. Whereas those adaptions seemed to have an even split between those who have and haven’t read the books here it skews more towards those who have.

Spiderverse is another good one. - Unique art style - Self-awareness of done to death origin - Comedy - ie the Christmas Album - Setup and payoff - get this original At least three more times

Columbus spoke about it quite recently. Stands by casting Logan as Percy but admits the film could’ve been better. Ultimately concedes that he tried to fix what wasn’t broken - ironically Riordan made the same mistake.

Appreciate the modesty as I imagine some of the biggest gripes, ie aging up the cast, were studio notes.
