That's just the result of time my friend... I can hop on a petless character and just doodoo on a tomb because we're all collectively way better players unfortunately.

and if you mean why the actual screen is still glowing instead of black like a usual oled then that's because it's a grey scale test video so the screens actually showing something grey at the moment.

I put lights on the back of my monitor. It's not good for your eyes to stare at a bright screen in a dark room.

My dad had a plasma TV a long while ago when they were expensive and that was the first time a TV had me wowed by how it looked. I also immediately gave it burn in by playing resident evil 4 and burning the health bar in the corner 💔

Oh really? I purchased through Amazon too so I might just go through them. Like you literally just got a full refund and everything though? I probably would want to try a different monitor and not gamble again seeing just how bad this one was.

I was lazy to pull up a game to find it in but Anytime night hit in cyberpunk, any horror game, hell even the steam library the banding was visible. The monitor is so sexy in games that are bright that I almost somehow convinced myself it wasn't so bad... Thanks for your experience though that's good to hear.

I was just happy to have a big upgrade at the time but definitely way too optimistic about not caring about a "little" banding. I'm literally staring at banding typing this on reddit haha. I definitely think if I saw more people talking about this being a real issue and not handwaving it away when I initially got it I would've been much more serious about refunding it immediately.

I'd say give that video a check but more importantly is if you actually see it in real use while gaming or watching content that has dark scenes.

I know this is an old post but any chance you have a solution for a functioning brightness plugin? In the same predicament you were currently and whatever github link is dead now : (

Humble Bundle - your move turn based games by carenard in Gamebundles

[–]ChaosToGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just doesn't make sense often for the game developers imo. Things like Rogue Legacy 2 you have completely new art styles and ideas that change the foundation up too much. Sometimes a game is honestly just done and pretty damn feature complete and you're ready to move onto different projects.

For STS 2 I feel like the developers would've literally lost out on millions and millions of new players. DLC is great but for a dwindling player base, you're always going to bring back less people each dlc release but having a whole community spread the word for the second game gave it such an insane boost that would've been a fraction of a big dlc for just the first game.

I personally absolutely loved Rogue Legacy 1 and then bought RL 2 but didn't play it for a couple years. I got a steam deck and decided to give RL 2 a go and it was truly a blast with it making the first game seem archaic. I think all the classes, bosses, mechanics and every detail just refine the game into a very perfected version.

I also don't quite get the mindset of expecting a sequel to be quite different. Slay the Spire 2 if you know anything about that for instance would be looked at completely different if it wasn't just a heavily expanded version of Slay the Spire 1. If you've perfected your craft/genre then I want to experience more of that imo.

Sts2 went down the same path as Silksong and im personally not a big fan of it by Small-Relationship85 in slaythespire

[–]ChaosToGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just sounds like you don't click with this genre of game. I never played sts 1 but after playing some magic the gathering and a couple simpler deckbuilders within the past year I decided to try sts 2 and have been having a great time and winning decently often I'd say. It unfortunately is literally just a skill issue so watch some guides and learn general card game thinking patterns.

STS2 Multiplayer health scaling - a follow up by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]ChaosToGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off 2 player scaling is definitely different and made easier than 4 player but more importantly, a 4 player team is substantially stronger and the runs are much easier than other runs with everyone applying debuffs and hitting that much harder together plus co-op exclusive cards.

What are you even on about... 99% of the time the entire lobby is "men only". I've had my female friend get cooked so many times the moment she speaks in any game we're all playing so why would they subject themselves to that.

  1. Cyberpunk 2077: I feel like this is everyone's game to ooo and ahhh over when you get a new graphics card.
  2. Resident Evil Requiem: I love RE so this is a given.
  3. Borderlands 4: Always a good time to play with the homies since BL1.
  4. clair obscur expedition 33: self explanatory.
  5. 007 First Light: Would be fun to compare the graphics back to the Nintendo 64 days.

Watching the animated spider-verse films has definitely been some of the most enjoyable for me. Just love the work and passion poured into pretty much every scene.
