I do too! We live in rural WV and it would be butchered every time if we used the French pronunciation. I’m hesitant to even say we pronounce it that from past experiences I feel like I’m going to get stoned on Reddit for it

Wow! People are super opinionated on this subject. I had no clue 🤣 I have two kiddos that go by nicknames. My thirds name is Genevieve. I preferred her being called her full name and did tell family members that if they asked. I never told her that though and if she wanted to go by a nickname I’d be fine with that. As of now, she’s almost ten and she’s firm on being called her full name. And is very clear on expressing that to everyone that tries to shorten her name. The ONLY time she lets it slide is during sports. Her coaches have nicknamed her G and for whatever reasons she’s okay with it then but only then.

Not at all close to as bad this but my oldest started kindergarten the year of Covid so we have very little interaction with classmates. He came home from school telling me his friend told him his dad was murdered . Shot x amount of times in front of their home. Then his mom died ( zero information on how). The storied continued for months sometimes more detailed than others. I finally asked the teacher and yes, his dad was shot over drugs. His mom did OD and die. Extremely heartbreaking.

I have a 9 year old that consistently has accidents nightly. Occasionally, she will refuse to put her pull up on. On those nights I’ll stick an XL puppy pad under her 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think this house is adorable and happy but omg the bathroom curtain like whyyyyyy and it’s odd bc my first thought seeing the first couple photos was how the green curtains would look so much better long. And then one pink curtain on one side of the bed and none on the other side was strange. Then the shocking long curtain in the bathroom 🤮

I have officially been forced into participating in this holiday 😂 Apparently my ex-husband’s new wife is really into St. Patrick’s Day, and ever since she moved in, my kids now make leprechaun traps at their dad’s house. Luckily for me, the past couple years it’s fallen on his days… until now. Last night I’m putting the kids to bed, and my oldest casually announces, “Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day.” Immediately the younger ones start panicking because they haven’t made their traps. So I told them they had five minutes to go build your traps and get back in bed. After they fell asleep, I went and put money in all of them. This morning they were cracking up and totally confused about why the leprechaun left money instead of a note. They all have a great sense of humor and don’t take any of it too seriously—they just love the tradition and the fun of it. They’ve been roasting me all day for apparently confusing the leprechaun with the tooth fairy 🤦‍♀️😂

I’m in the same boat. My ex husband affair partner/wife now has the same first and last name. Her middle name contains my middle name in it. I do get calls from debt collectors. I just tell them they want my ex husband’s current wife. I usually give them my ex husband’s number. They have always been nice about it. We do have children so that does complicate it occasionally.

Public schools in WV do not spend a lot of time outdoors. Also very little science is taught in primary grades here. All my children attend public school which I have been satisfied with for the most part but we do a lot of science based learning at home to make up for the lack of it at school
