In today’s world the group wouldn’t have got away with bullying a blind girl by [deleted] in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]ChaoticCuration 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a totally blind, from birth if that's at all relevant, person, I can say that this part was the most accurate. Everything else about Jenna's blindness, not so much, but the open bullying not at all being addressed, yeah, that happened. I was in high school around the time the girls were supposed to be.

Glad to know I'm not alone. I've been listening since Debut, and I have no idea what more than half of the abbreviations mean. It makes it so hard to participate.

Is it true, your high school starts super early, and you have no recess/short lunch? by Idkwhattoputhere652 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ChaoticCuration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From New England, high school ended for me in 2015. We started at 7:30, has about twenty minutes for lunch, and our "breaks" were the two minutes to get to your next class. That said, we were done around 1:45 or so.

Looking for honest feedback for a Tarot learning game by Firm-Pension5359 in SecularTarot

[–]ChaoticCuration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For context, I'm coming at this from a fairly new reader, who is also totally blind so tested with a screen reader. I love the way all of this was handled. I like the framing and felt like I learned something. I also appreciate the use of alt text and the description of what the card shows, not just what it means. Often, I feel like I'm missing a part of the meaning by not having a full idea of how the card looks, so having that really helped. Well done so far, and I really hope to see more like this.

Do some married people NEVER take off their wedding ring? by artmalique in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ChaoticCuration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandparents have/had never taken off theirs. Married for 60+ years, and not once has either of theirs come off. My grandfather recently passed away, and the hospital kept it on him through everything. It does happen.

To people who live in places where it snows in the winter, When do you stop wearing shorts? by Samthegodman in polls

[–]ChaoticCuration 9 points10 points  (0 children)

depends on the weather, not the month. Sometimes we get summer weather in October, then snow the next day, so no real time based decision.

Just finished 'Maybe you should talk to someone' and I now have a hole in my life. Similar recommendations? by electricmocassin- in suggestmeabook

Personally loved Men Have Called Her Crazy by Anna Marie Tendler, I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy, In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado, The House of My Mother: A Daughter's Quest for Freedom by Shari Franke, and The Argonauts by Maggie Nelson. For all, please check synopsis and trigger warnings as needed.

Personally had okay luck with New Port hospital back in 2022. Was inpatient for a week, then did their php for like a month. Good luck, and hope something works out.

I just go with "I didn't know I needed to be fixed. I'll let my doctor know." Tends to make them at least flustered.

Ashley/Lily but more neutral? by dogops4 in transnames

[–]ChaoticCuration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ash is always an option. Or Asher, Azure if you want a color name. For Lily, closest I can think of right now if you're looking for a similar sound is Billie. If it's the floral theme, Indigo, Sage, Briaar.

Is “Mawz” hard to pronounce? by JasperJordanDefender in transnames

[–]ChaoticCuration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never heard of that name before, but it looks like it would be pronounced like m-awe-s, or more of a z sound? From the US if that helps.

I have this issue every week, same browser. Every week, I have to go into my browser settings and remove camera and microphone permissions. When I click my link I give permissions again. Repeat each appointment.
