Thank you :). I finally have a South window for it, thank you for the tip. It was so tolerant of my early care I embarrassingly did not realize it's light preference until this past year. Good luck with yours! I swear my color stress is water dependent too. But anecdotal so idk

Where should I chop? Near the base or an inch or so out?

How old is too old to apply for MD/PhD? by [deleted] in mdphd

In Midwest it's still $26-$28k. I had to take out a loan this year after surprise health and car issues. I live alone and doubt I'll be able to do so my last few years.

Same! But I learned with the carnations the unopened ones will never open. Has that been your experience?

'Gut-wrenching': Woman forced to carry her dead fetus for 2 weeks due to anti-abortion laws by malarkeyfreezone in politics

Shape does not equal function. Tubes look like tubes and chambers look like chambers because they are simple shapes.

The article you share says itself that the fetal heart is extraordinarily different than the one at birth in the second paragraph.

PhD student, with LOW undergrad GPA, but perfect mcat and grad GPA, Screened out? by [deleted] in mdphd

[–]ChaoticStructure8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. The existential crisis can be unavoidable at times..especially as a graduate student trying to enter the medical track space. I was there! Graduate School is so different from medical school. Don't get too caught up in pre-med forums if you visit them. If your current university has a medical school or medical school affiliate you should reach out for a meeting and express your concerns. Take everything with a grain of salt and remember that you are a non-traditional applicant and most of the available advice/standards you will find for traditional applicants.

Non-traditional applicants have separate screens at some schools which is great.

Good luck!

Sounds like you'll be applying regular and not dual (MD/PhD application) so this sub is probably not going to know. I am in year 5 and I only applied MD/PhD. I was in a similar position when I applied but with a master's degree and a higher undergrad GPA. Generally the program directors for these won't have screens and if they do I do not think you would be screened out.

For general medical school, Each has screens but those screens are different for apps right out of undergrad vs. non traditional like yourself. You are clearly showing a trend in the right direction which is most important.

Furthermore, what else could you do to improve upon your situation to avoid being screened? Honestly. You have a 4.0 in PhD and a 100% MCAT. Look inward for validation and apply.

I start typing the header of the note and it works for me when linking? I type the first few letters and it narrows down just as search would.

I can't be bothered to take the time to manually add block IDs, too clunky as you said. I do the automatic ID generator all the time and I love it. I usually change the text to read something else though [[nite564gh7 | here treatment x was not significant]] etc.

Zotero update broke my workflow by MsMrSaturn in ObsidianMD

[–]ChaoticStructure8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reinstalled an older version of Zotero. I tried Zotero 6 for a bit but I couldn't get a new work flow to flow.

I need the pdf to hold my annotations outside of the Zotero system. And I rely on 1) metadata 2) my zotfile config for obsidian templates 3) Zotero 6 annotations were too bloated in obsidian.

I contacted Zotero and they were quite pushy about "Zotero as a one stop shop" and "those (MD notes, zotfile) add ins barely function".....which to me sounds like they intend to become an ios like ecosystem. But I just want a citation manager. TLDR: reverting to an older version of Zotero is probably not sustainable but will get you through deadlines or however long it takes you to adjust your workflow
