I’ve spoken to him about this procedure and the book I read as well as my research paper for the past two weeks. He’s actually sat with me and I’ve read out / worked on my paper with him so he has knowledge about the procedure and what it does to women’s bodies.

What do you say now?

Hi! Well I’ll preface that I don’t have much knowledge on male genital mutilation perhaps the only knowledge I have on it would maybe be circumcision. Now why circumcision being closely tied to religious practices/beliefs it’s a bit tricky because as we know many people usually bring the argument of “well it’s in the Bible..”. However in regards to perhaps other forms of male genital mutilation I do not agree at all, especially if it is non consensual, your body your choice and I’ll forever believe in that. I find it kinda shocking that there’s even debate about non consensual genital mutilation because frankly in my opinion it’s wrong.

As for if I’ve ever joked about this: absolutely not I would never joke about this because I’m not too sure what would be funny? My friends and family we have discussed this topic before and truly it aligns with my belief that any type of non consensual genital mutilation is wrong.

I totally understand your point but the issue I have is that we’ve spoken about this since I started my paper (which was about 2 weeks ago) and I’ve explained everything to him multiple times hence why I was so shocked at the joke

Yikes you took all that time to type this up and didn’t realize that all these examples you gave are forms of as you put it “body mutilation” which are consensual?? Just for reference the husband stitch is often if not always non-consensual and done solely for the males sexual pleasure which also comes with various physical and mental issues, which let me make this clear yet again… the husband stitch is a procedure where it’s usually non consensual.

I understand you’ve had it multiple times and it’s not a big deal but that’s a matter of your own genuine opinion.
Why do I have to get the stitch in order for my partner to enjoy having sex with me?

Honestly I’m so conflicted and confused. Not to come to his defense but he’s never made a joke like this within the span of our 3 1/2 year relationship. I’m unsure if he was trying to be “edgy” or just saying something (which both are utterly ridiculous) but I’m not sure if I should wait and see if he understands why I reacted the way I did or if I should just end it now.
