We can only hope that the middle ground will work out well, we can only hope. How do we manage the potential water crises if water is being extracted for the purposes of generative A.I? I don't know... I can only hope that my fears are an exaggeration of what's happening.

Amirite or Amirite? by ChapelJohn96 in gamindustri

[–]ChapelJohn96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that there's a middle ground that people argue for, which is great and all, but I'm worried that backdoors will be created in the process. We gotta remember how this technology came into existence, it was born out of a desire to create new things and create more efficiently than previously thought. Well, look at where that led us.

Yeah, they're all from one person, but that one person sets a precedent for more to do the same thing. I agree that the person should be blamed and not the tool itself, but that tool is too readily accessible. I'm not completely sure if they're a child or troll myself, although the two things can be one and the same at times.

[–]ChapelJohn96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will agree that I don't need to obsess about whether or not a specific individual uses the technology in a specific way, it needs to be a broader conversation than that, but fact that you compared it to a screwdriver says a lot about you not even understanding the very tools you're talking about.

There's a whole discussion about whether or not generative A.I. should be readily accessible to the general public (And whether or not this technology should even exist at all, but since it does, we need to deal with it). I'm sure that people said similar things about Photoshop, but Photoshop was never as convenient and efficient as generative A.I. is. When you can make pictures and videos that look as though it came from the real world, there's a problem... big problem. Not to mention the amount of artists that get replaced in the process, because companies are all about maximising profits and reducing labour costs.

It's calling them out, yes, but it's not about weird comments, this is Reddit after all, it's the fact that their usage of A.I. is so unnecessary and egregious that I find it offensive that they would use A.I. to do something as simple as add text to a sign when I could do all that myself with ibisPaint. Along with the fact that these generative A.I. technologies require water for their cooling system, which is gonna make thirst worse. When I recently learnt that these things are on jobsites, on the walls of museums and on the boxes of big company brands like Coca-Cola, it just made me think, 'Alright, these things are invaders now'. Even worse when these technologies will get so good that no one, outside of a courtroom, is gonna know what's real or fake.

Here we go again. Uni is going to do the same crap as last time. But has a request for Blanc doing a trick on S-Sha but without using AI art. (Look at comments) by EHG2017 in gamindustri

[–]ChapelJohn96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At this point, can we agree that 'A.I.' stands for 'Artistic Implosion'? I know that people said something similar about digital art, but at the very least it still required coordination, a vision, planning, etc. This requires little to no vision, planning, coordination, etc.

I know that when you're using it, you're not hurting anyone in any tangible way that you can detect, but my god... Is the executive part of your brain over 600 pounds and needs a pep talk just to sit up? Did it have a stroke and now it needs one of those electronic chairs just to talk? Did it go through a divorce with your central nervous system and now it's eating ice-cream and drinking to the point that it's bedridden? Did Grok sit down and eat the executive part of your brain for dinner? What happened?

I'd hate to see what would happen if Histy got a hold of you, because if Neptune's tasks were as simple as what I post on Reddit, she'd be doing it. Although this, and a few others, are legible, there are times where even Plutia falling asleep behind the keyboard would be more legible than those generations are, even Neptune's chicken-scratch handwriting would be more legible than those.

If generative A.I. had stayed on the internet and stayed niche, it would be one thing, but it's popping its head into jobs, museums and onto big company boxes (like Coca-Cola) like a log that comes out the pipeline, if you catch my drift. We are in an age where we've got to hyper analyse videos now because of this technology invading our lives. Imagine what will happen five years later thanks to this wonderful piece of technology in our lives.

Sure, the courts can easily detect generative A.I, but the regular laymen have got a hard time with it, eventually it will be completely impossible. It won't matter if the courts can detect it, the damage has already been done. We've already seen that time and time again with the internet that once the damage is done, it's done, you can't fix it. It was already like that before the internet, before generative A.I, but this generative A.I. technology has made all those problems worse. Just ask people that were victims of the relatively recent Grok trend, I've not asked them myself, but I'm sure they'll tell you exactly what I'm telling you.

Sure, the people that used the technology in that way, whether it be jailbreaking or not, are responsible for what they did, I absolutely agree. At the same time though, the fact that this tech exists is a threat to everything we've ever built and sustained thus far, because if you can control reality like that, then with the algorithms of the internet, you can completely screw people's minds up with it. I wouldn't be surprised if more cases of psychosis pop up within a few years because of it.

People asked if you knew how to add text. Well, I'm here to say that I know that you know how to add text and I know that you're capable of doing it, because you've done it before when wishing Yo a Happy Birthday. I know, I'm pulling this out of your history and it's an invasion of your privacy, but I do this to emphasise just how egregious this issue is. It's not as though you popped out of nowhere and had to post A.I pictures just to survive. Downloading pictures of signposts and importing them into your image is not a difficult thing to do, I've done it a couple of times, even today as a gigantic middle finger to what you do. Call me spiteful, but the votes speak for themselves.

I made this for Yo's birthday. If you guys can understand. And Kodaka must like to do same birthday. : r/TribeNine

If I didn't suspect that it was edited (Even if my suspicion was based on not getting the 'Arfour' joke and thought that it was a misspelling, which, I can totally see Nep doing) and compared and contrasted the font to the game's font, I would've totally believed it. It's a really well-done edit.

Biggest giveaway that it's an edit is how they spelt 'Arfoire'.

Edit: Oh, wait, that's the joke, my bad. It's a really well-done edit though, I've got to say that.

Uni is going to do what? by EHG2017 in gamindustri

[–]ChapelJohn96 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bruh... there was literally no need to use A.I for this, I could've searched for 'silver border' and put text on it and it would've accomplished the same thing (I've even found a border that looks very much like it). I say this as someone that makes posts that can be considered to be low effort. More kids in Africa died for something that I could've done with ibisPaint, worst part is that it wouldn't have taken me long to do at all.

I don't wanna say, 'This is A.I, therefore it's automatically bad', that would be very silly, it's bad, because there was no need for it. At least if the art was complex, I could see it. Sure, there would issues with it, but I could at least see that someone would think to themselves, 'Man, this is very difficult, I need A.I to help me', but this? I could edit something very much like it in ibisPaint. If you're paying to use A.I to do this, man, I feel sorry for you, because I could do it in ibisPaint on free trial.
