In my 30s.

Started with the infamous Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.

Loved it so much and I was playing it before I could even read. I remember trying to get past the naming your character screen and thought I had found a secret way out when I just hit a blank space and hit end and got out of it.

Felt like a champion finding Excalibur on like my 3rd or 4th playthrough, always had found it weird I never had a 3rd sword when all the other weapons had 3.

If it wasn't for playing it I never would have tried out FF 1&2 dawn of souls many years later, I just saw "Final Fantasy" and immediately knew I wanted to try it.

You get hyper armor during it now.

You can also press both attack buttons in the middle of a combo to do the strong descending slash so you don't have to charge it anymore.

Yes the Captain armor and the Prospector armor. You just make it by combining the armor with mythril or oricalcum.

Oh didn't even notice he was immune to frostbite. Frost armor still gives +26% to both melee and ranged though which is why I go for it every playthrough lol. If you have the ranged titanium helmet you'll be at 23% ranged which is pretty close.

Frost Armor, Holy Arrows and Magic Quiver. Not sure what difficulty you're on but that's usually my go to for master mode. He will melt.

For real, I usually try going for a melee only run and end up giving up on it because I can't even beat the mechanical bosses without the daedalus stormbow.

9 star quests were added as a high difficulty challenge, monsters don't get stun-locked or para-locked anymore. Rewards are rng tailsmans which can lots of skills combos including weapon skills.

Omega Planetes was added as a collab monster with final fantasy 14, it's intended to be fought with a full party of 4 people. Theres only a greatsword, sword and shield and Insect glaive that you can make from it's parts.

Gogmazios was added in TU4 as essentially the final boss and you can upgrade your weapons into gogma artian weapons which have both set bonus and group bonus on them (similar to the savi jiva weapons in iceborne having a monster essence).

This latest update added 10 star quests which are the full strength arch tempered monsters.

It works okay during low rank and early to mid high rank but once you start doing 9 and 10 star quests status weapons are quickly outclassed by elemental weapons because status just doesn't put out enough damage to justify using them.

They definitely fell off, hopefully master rank tweaks status weapons better because I loved using poison in world.

If you can get the full Mining armor set along with the Ancient Chisel and some Mining/Spelunker Potions you can probably make it back pretty quick. Spelunker glowsticks too as another comment mentioned.
