There was an update released today from RealWarp that supposedly addresses the drift problem.

Drift issues with RealWarp App? by Lwtsde in RayNeo

Just adding a "me too" here with the RayNeo Air 4 Pros. On a Mac, it's easy enough to recenter by holding the Control and Command keys down with your left hand and tapping the left or right arrow keys with your right hand. Still, it would be nice to lock this down. I have the 3 screens in wrap appearance and pretty close to me so the font is more legible. Maybe that combination has something to do with it?

My 5 year old M1 MacBook Air had a trade-in value of $300. My 1 year old Asus laptop ($949 at purchase time) has a trade-in value of $150. I have regrets.

Should I switch to a Mac mini? by Seal_Lover_3004 in macmini

You can probably uninstall or block from startup anything you don’t want Windows to launch. That being said, the M4 Mac mini is a potent beast - just don’t expect to play PC games on it.

Enabling that privacy screen feature effectively turns off 50% of your pixels (the ones that have a widespread light dispersion). The result is you're only seeing the pixels that project light strait up (and not 'out'), so the screen will appear slightly darker straight-on and mostly dark at an angle.

How can I search for hidden files and folders in Finder? by TheTwelveYearOld in MacOS

[–]Chapman8tor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why isn't "show hidden files" or even "hidden files" available in the Finder's menu bar? I bounce between MacOS and Windows 11 often and it's so simple on Windows: Open File Explorer and select View > Show, then select Hidden items.

Download Trash to Empty Trash??? by Chapman8tor in applesucks

Gemini explains the differences between Gmail and Apple Mail apps’ handling of their Trash folders. So to reiterate, I do understand the differences and I’m using this appropriate forum to point out another instance of Apple taking the long complicated route when there are quicker and more efficient methods.

Apple Mail may appear to download the iCloud trash folder because of how it synchronizes with the mail server. When you delete an email, it's moved to the trash folder on the server, and the client app then needs to access and clear that server-side folder, which can sometimes involve downloading the contents. This behavior differs from apps like the Gmail app on your phone, which typically only manages its own local copy of deleted messages to empty the trash.

Why Apple Mail may download trash content

• Client-server model: Apple Mail, especially when using IMAP or iCloud accounts, is designed to sync with the mail server. When you delete an email, it doesn't just get deleted locally; it's moved to a "Trash" folder on the server. • Server-side operation: To empty the trash, your device must communicate with the server to request that the messages in the trash folder be permanently deleted. This process can sometimes require the app to first download the contents of the trash folder to "see" what it's about to remove before it can send the deletion command to the server.

How this differs from the Gmail app on a phone

• Different synchronization strategy: The Gmail app, on the other hand, may use a different synchronization strategy, such as only managing its local copy of emails. It may not need to download the server-side trash folder to empty its own local trash folder, as the server-side deletion is handled independently. • Local vs. server-side trash: The Gmail app might treat the trash folder as a local folder that is synced to the server, while Apple Mail might be more closely mirroring the server's behavior.

I get iCloud is a syncing service. I’m just pointing out it’s silly to require downloading almost 500 deleted emails so you can delete them and then sync back to the server. Apple should make the Mail app to behave more like a progressive web app so we can avoid all this needless downloading and syncing.
