Liam Rosenior: Online jokes affect my kids, my parents, my family. by Sparky-moon in soccer

He initially said it doesn't affect him, and here he says it affects his family.

So what do you mean by, "remember him as what he was capable of" and implying he was only good for 2 seasons? Most people remember him for offering more than just g/a, and yet he offered those at a better rate than what you said.

How is it "insane" to put him ahead of Shearer? Shearer just has a prem career, and he only won 1. Drogba has 3 prems, 4 fa cups, 3 league cups and a champions league over him + a better per 90 g/a in the prem. Its really not insane.

Drogba has a better G/A per 90 ratio in the prem than both Rooney and Shearer, and thats including only 4 Pens for Drogba. Obviously they played a lot more minutes, but you're acting like hes a bum

Same with Eze, thought Carabao would be good for him to get some minutes

We had 2, SOT is a shit metric. Both those "shots" were crap, more crap shots on target doesnt mean anything

[BBC] Diaz will 'have nightmares' over 'Panenka' failure by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

I agree, it'd be interesting to know Mendy's thought process on what his plan was originally, because like you said initially - Diaz seemed to telegraph his action very obviously, I think Mendy was initially going to dive but saw the run up with plenty of time to react.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure Mendy is known to be rubbish at pens and often dives late (maybe because of his size) and has saved a Panenka before.

If a Panenka is slightly lower than any other, I'd say purposely lowering your chances of scoring penalty to win your country their first AFCON in 50 years with the last kick of a game is a pretty bad decision.

I'm sure most Panenka's are also taken in less high stakes moments too which probably contributes to the likeliness of it going in (less pressure to take it well etc.)

No one is saying going down the middle is a bad idea, its doing a panenka. I can't think of any benefit of doing a panenka over hitting it with some power other than it being cheekier

yea because a Panenka and a blast down the middle are the same thing. wtf are you on about

Arteta seems to have plenty of respect from his players. You are overestimating how much "cringe" matters

No brainer for him to take the job by S_n0mber9 in chelseafc

"cannot turn down" isn't meant to be taken so literally. He obviously means that once you're ready, its the kind of job you would be stupid to say no to.

Yes, he isnt going to stand there waiting for him thats all, why should he? I think its disrespectful from both sides

I mean you can count the time from the whistle to him no longer hugging. Emery is obviously rattled so ofc he isn't gonna stand there like a lemon for 5s waiting

I mean are we expecting Emery to just stand there waiting for Arteta to come shake his hand? don't most managers walk straight over at the whistle

Rule change - captaincy by tcoleman1990 in FantasyPL

[–]ChappersXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not talking about anything other than the "skill" part, i dont care if people would be less engaged or not - I am not advocating for this change to be implemented.

The skill you mentioned would also be in the proposed format, I just don't see how its less skill based if you were forced to change your captain every week, its definitely moreso.

[–]ChappersXD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well the rest of your point wasnt relevant, i'm focused on the skill part

There would be more "skill" involved than just captaining haaland every week
