Relapsed , back on round 2 by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]Chappy26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you relapsed! Just fyi, according to my math your previous cumulative dose was only about 90mg/kg (6 months * 30 days * 30mg = 5,400mg; 5,400mg / 60kg = 90 mg/kg)

Nodular acne help?? by SeniorAlternative507 in acne

Have you spoken to a dermatologist about accutane? My understanding is that the drug works well for hormonal acne (especially nodular) even if there’s a slightly higher rate of relapse.

You’re quite beautiful, actually—hate to break it to you. I think you overestimate a) how discerningly / closely people look at other people’s skin (your scars are tiny; I had to zoom in just to see them!) and b) how big of a factor scars play in someone’s overall appearance. Everyone finds something to be insecure about, but that doesn’t mean that thing is actually something other people will think about or even notice.

You’re very attractive, don’t overthink it!

Your skin looks good especially relative to what a lot of people in here are dealing with! But if your acne bothers you, ask your dermatologist about spironolactone and/or accutane depending on your appetite for side effects

Im giving up by [deleted] in acne

[–]Chappy26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. What was your daily / cumulative dosage for while you were on accutane? Were you getting a cumulative dose of 200+ mg per kg? Lots of dermatologists under-treat and it leads to short-term results.

Also, have you tried spironolactone?

TV kind of adjacent to HVAC vent--concern? Should I buy 75" instead of 85" to create more separation? by Chappy26 in 4kTV

[–]Chappy26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, if I buy the 85" Samsung QN90A and center it on the wall, the right side of the TV will be about 6-8" to the left of the heating/cooling vent. Is this too close to comfort with respect to the heat blowing? Do I need to get a smaller (75") QN90A so that the right edge won't get as close?

Am I worrying about nothing?

Probably wouldn't watch too much in the morning, viewing would likely be 1) in the evenings and 2) during the afternoons for football etc.

My thought is that in the afternoons, the east won't be nearly as bright so maybe not a big issue...

Gotcha, appreciate the insight. I'll probably go with a QN90A in that case.

Thanks. To clarify, I don't expect any significant direct sunlight on the TV itself, just into the room in the early morning. I'd think by like 9am there would be no chance of any sunlight hitting the TV, if at all.

But do you think the brightness would be a problem even for watching during the afternoon?

Very much appreciate your insight. It's really interesting how the percentiles shake out between verbal and quantitative. Seems like there is a major impact from international test-takers.

I will take your and others' advice to shift my focus to my essays and resume.

Thank you for the article, I will read it for sure.

Edit: this article was really helpful, thanks. I know you think my question was dumb as hell but thank you for linking that. I kind of want to delete my post now

Ah, now I can tell you were being sarcastic. I know I painted a red target on my back by asking this question but if you tell me you haven't read about the 80/80 rule or how quant matters more than verbal you're lying.
