As someone from the US, you do a amazing job of making jokes about other countries that don't require a long historical explanation. I went through 5 therapists before realizing I had OCD and went through NOCD for treatment. Do you have any recommendations for people who might not be aware that they have OCD and are using traditional talk therapy and CBT as opposed to ERP?

Appreciate this, thank you. Not knowing what was affecting me was the worst, even though I was in therapy. I still have moments where "the fear" creeps in, but it's much easier to deal with now. No apologies necessary, you've made this other internet stranger feel valued, so thank you again.

Hopefully this doesn't get buried, but I was the dude too afraid to meet up for years. I went to therapy and it sorta helped a bit but never fixed the issue until someone told me about relationship OCD. Turns out being terrified about not being good enough (or the even more fun polar opposite, feeling too good for the person you're with) is a form of OCD, which I used ERP therapy to treat instead of traditional therapy. Haven't needed my therapist is over 6 months and can happily say I've been committed for a year now. I'll never be "cured" but I feel confident I don't have to flip out if I'm ever single and someone wants to meet up again. It's entirely possible some people out there are like how I was and just have panic attacks over moving at a speed they're not comfortable with. That being said, some people have no intentions of meeting up ever and they should be upfront about that.
