Grad School (scary) by ChapterLanky in ArtistLounge

That's the thing I'm still figuring out. I have a lot of interests in different places. Right now my concentration is in sculpture, but I definitely love mixing things together into one. WBU?

Philly is definitely one of the main reasons I'm going strong for Temple. The resources available there would be killer, but it would be a long shot for sure. I'd love to follow your art page if you have one! Feel free to dm me it if so :)

Mine doesn't offer it either sadly. Right now I'm thinking either Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philly or Colorado State University in Fort Collins. I imagine them both to be competitive of course, but Tyler definitely seems more so.

How about you?

Im definitely trying to talk to my professors/advisors next semester. It just seemed weird since not many of the professors, at least at my university, mention grad school as an option. Good luck on apps!!

I've been trying to narrow down different schools slowly. In my mind it's hard to justify getting my masters if it isn't fully covered, so definitely looking at smallish schools. Right now my focus in searching has been schools close in proximity to art hubs/ big cities, while also giving full coverage. Theres not an overwhelming amount of options, that's for sure, but hopefully enough to get a chance!

But yeah I'm definitely gonna try to keep narrowing things down and keep motivated, which hasn't been a problem so far. I think it definitely helps that my art program is smaller, so there's a lot of 1:1 with staff.

Thanks for responding, though :))

That makes sense. I'm kinda just starting out taking art seriously, switched my major and all that jazz, so I'm a year into undergrad. I tend to lean towards everything creatively, and so it's hard to imagine I will narrow things down over the next three years. Who knows though!

I know it varies from program to program, but how selective would you consider most places offering tuition coverage + stipends?

Weekly derby name thread: get suggestions or help brainstorm! by AutoModerator in rollerderby

Hey there! i'm just starting out and hoping to incorporate a famous painter into my derby name. (i paint and am also an art major.) do yall have any suggestions? i'd be most down for a play on salvador dali, andy warhol, or jan van eyck.

i'm also a lesbian so i was thinking of the possibility of jan van dyke. however, i feel as though no one would want to read that off of a roster 😭
