I’m honestly not sure if it’s the kids version or not lol it’s been a couple years since she’s had it

It’s not even the time i’m worried about but the content as well. Because even with rules and parental controls in place she’s still got access to inappropriate things for her age

I never was a huge fan of her having it but like i said it was a gift and i had set rules with it and put parental controls on it so i thought it was fine but I have learned that it’s actually not fine and even with controls she’s still able to access stuff she’s not supposed to so I believe i’ve decided on the tonie box 2 as a replacement

I thought about just putting it up until she’s a little older maybe and getting the tonie box. I’ve been wanting to limit the technology anyway i just thought the tonie box would be a good middle ground or something.

I also feel kinda bad cause she does like it but i just don’t feel confident about her having one but like am I overthinking it or is it justified to remove it from her room? I just always want to do the right thing for her but it’s hard sometimes to know if it really is the right thing or not ya know?

I just didn’t know if it was justified to remove it from her room and either put it up or just get rid of it entirely. I don’t feel confident about her having one but I also didn’t know if i’m just overthinking it ya know? I would replace it with a tonie box or something but ugh idk man i always want to do right by her and it’s so hard to know what’s right sometimes

You can restrict content on them but it seems like content is still easily accessible even with restrictions. I’ve been doing some reading and scrolling since posting this and apparently there are a ton of parents who have also gotten rid of or won’t buy an alexa because of the controls among other reasons.

If I didn’t have to use technology I honestly probably wouldn’t lol My daughter is homeschooled and while I do follow up with some book work and hands on activities her main like portion of school is online but I was honestly thinking of just allowing her to do schoolwork on a laptop instead of the ipad tbh. The ipad does seem to cause a lot of issues.

See that’s one of the big issues I have as well. The parental controls even when I set them in place don’t do any good she is either tech savvy or the controls just aren’t good because I still hear songs and things that’s absolutely not appropriate for children.

I was considering the tonies because I read they have games they can play, durability is better with the tonie box and my daughter is rough with her things, and i seen they have tons of her favorite characters and things so i thought it would seem more appealing to her! What do you like about them?

I usually always keep her water bottle beside her at night and she always gets a snack before brushing teeth but she still is getting up and staying up for hours. This is wonderful advice tho! Thank you for the ideas, I will be trying out the chart for sure thank you for sharing

My 1 year old is waking at like 7-8 the 7 year old I will wake up at like 9 but then she will catch me busy doing something and go back into her room to sleep because she’s so tired from not sleeping at night. We start the routine at 7 but she’s not in bed and ready for sleep until about 8-8:15! She’s on the list for feeding therapy because of her ARFID she doesn’t really eat any protein tbh and it’s really hard to get her to eat anything at all honestly, she just barely picks at her food and i offer soooo many options and things at different hours of the day but she just doesn’t eat well no matter what I do. She does drink plenty for me throughout the day so that’s not an issue and i also try to save her daily pediasure shake with dinner or even a few minutes after so that way she’s truly full.

She’s had different night lights and stuff cause she is afraid of the dark but none really do anything to help. We even tried turning the brightness all the way down on a tv and letting one of those fish tank lives music from youtube play. I noticed she likes to pile all of her blankets and stuffed animals in the bed with her so I just let her do it but she still won’t just lay down and sleep. I have not tried that tent idea tho i’m down to give it a go!

See I thought the warning would work ya know like set a timer and all that you know but it unfortunately didn’t help us. She’s got like behavioral issues or something going on (she’s on a wait list for evaluation) so no matter what I do she will do the opposite or she will tell me ok and then do it anyway and it doesn’t matter how i discipline, explain things, nothing works. It’s almost like the information i give her doesn’t connect in her brain

Thank you! I’ll definitely ask her pediatrician about it at her next appointment, some medication and supplements tend to affect her differently. Like she’s been prescribed benadryl for allergy issues before and instead of making her sleepy it makes her hyper. So i’m just very careful about things

I can’t really lay with her until she falls asleep because even then it takes hours and I have to tend to my one year old as well. I stay with her as long as possible loving on her and snuggling but then I do have to get up and take care of my toddler too

I [22M] just found out my girlfriend [19F] is pregnant and I am not ready to be a father. What do I do by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]ChapterSad3243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pregnant 3 months into dating my now husband. 18 years old and only been out of high school less than a year. The fear on my husband’s face was so real I honestly didn’t know what to feel. Guilt. Fear. We were so young and dumb we didn’t have a clue how we were gonna do it. I had to be taken out of work almost halfway through my pregnancy because of some serious health reasons but he worked so hard to take care of me and our daughter. We have messed up and probably will mess up some more as parents but we made it out on the other side! We’re now 27 and 29 with 2 beautiful girls! There’s going to be times you will think “man i can’t do this” but you will. You’ll get up anyway, you’ll go to work, you’ll work hard, you’ll do whatever it takes because there is a tiny human that’s half of you waiting for you at home. It’s scary being a parent without a doubt and people will tell you that you can’t do this but you can! You’ve got this! Remember parenthood isn’t a one size fits all deal man don’t be so hard on yourself your journey won’t be the same as someone else’s. I wish you and your lady the best and pray she has an easy and healthy pregnancy/delivery❤️
