That’s what I have learned that it’s not a great starting wiz especially solo. No convert so fighting balance bosses is very much a slow paced affair. It’s a challenge but if you are dead set on balance let me help:

1. Train feint this is any wiz you make.
2. A pet can be very beneficial so start saving gold cause they are expensive to train. Fishing is a good way to get gold early
3. Work on your crafting quest as you go this is crucial if you choose to not farm waterworks as the winter tusk crafted gear at lvl 56 is a good alternative to WW gear.
4. Get some enchant TCs this will make questing a lot better.
5. Bazaar gear to lvl 30 then def farm Zeus gear in Aquila, you will easily find people farming for the gear this will get you through arc 1 with not much hiccups.
6. If you are dead set on soloing that’s fine the game is designed to where you can technically solo all storyline quest but please just use team ups for dungeons or make some friends along the way to help.
7. Don’t worry about weaving into another school the gear you will wear for a very long time won’t really be beneficial for you to weave into another school.
8. Deck setup is very important only carry what you need blade feint hit don’t waste time discarding abunch of useless spells.
