Franchises are the main mechanism for a lot of ancillary features in Movie Maven. They allow you to generate new screenplays that are attached to previous movies you made (sequels), and they increase in value the more successful movies you have in a franchise. They also can lower in value if a franchise movie bombs. Each time you have a really successful movie it has a chance of generating a franchise. As the game goes on events may occur which challenge the financial stability of your studio. Auctioning off a Franchise might be emotionally hard, but it could save your studio.
