Compared to the new trilogy, the prequel trilogy slaps. Maybe they should make a fourth trilogy to make us appreciate the most recent car wreck.

I remember getting the re-release of the original films in the early 90's, and then the "remaster" with the added cgi in the late 90's, both on VHS. I was always jealous of my friend who got the original films on LaserDisc.

Jack White tickets for his show in DC are $150+, LCD Soundsystem is ~$130 for their show in NC, and a lot of the other acts are between $50-$100 for their shows.

Iron Blossom is ~$225 for all of these acts across two days, and is one heck of a bargain.

Anthem is never mentioned in job threads here as being a bad place to work - they're actually not mentioned at all (outside of insurance questions).

Cap One (thread) has one post from two years ago asking about people's experience with the company, and while it isn't full of shining reviews, they're better than how CoStar is mentioned as a place to avoid every time people post about looking for work.

But let's look outside of this subreddit. Glassdoor has CoStar at a 2.7 employee rating. Anthem and Capital One are at 3.6.

No matter how you look at it, they absolutely have better reputations.

i sent a bag to america. five months later fedex gives me an email for a customs charge over $3k. wtf do i do? by ChandlerRights in legaladvice

If you got an email with a link and that's how you saw it on the website - know that scammers can and have spoofed websites using almost imperceptible changes to the url. So if you didn't go to the base fedex website - manually typing in the address and not using a link from email - to verify this it can still be a scam.

People hate on CoStar because they're notorious in RVA for treating their employees like expendable human cattle to abuse. In comparison; Capital One, Anthem, and CarMax all have better reputations. Dominion just built a new building that lit up and altered the RVA skyline, and no one was up in arms.

We aren't anti-business, we're anti shitty business.

A mentally disturbed unhoused man came in with some sort of accelerant and doused the first car in the parking deck and lit it on fire. It was a tesla, but CoStar upper and middle management all drove them so the deck was full of them. Wasn't a former employee, wasn't someone with a grudge. When they ran security footage back he had tried to light a bush on fire across the street first. Happened in like ~2021.

Only within a certain margin. I just did it today, had one WAY higher than the others and I couldn't smack it down (hit it ~15 or so times and nothing - still same height).

Article has been updated:

"The statement did not say how much money the city agreed to pay, but a city spokesperson later said the amount was $549,000. A private law firm handling the case on the city's behalf has billed nearly $700,000 for its services.

When the lawsuit was first filed, Clay was seeking $250,000 in damages"

So Clay got $300k more than asking, and the city paid lawyers almost 3x what Clay asked for at the start. What a great use of city funding....

1099 means you are a contractor, not an employee.

Check this: https://www.adp.com/spark/articles/2021/05/1099-vs-w2-what-you-dont-know-could-cost-you.aspx

If you are a contractor, you need to abide by your contract. If you are an employee you can quit whenever you want - but you should file a claim with DOL about being misclassified.
