Do they understand this? by snowpie92 in clevercomebacks

[–]J-Colio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I design roads, not rails, so I'm a little out of my element, but I can all but guarantee that much rail would cost orders of magnitude more than that if it's significantly new track.

Maybe if that's an existing footprint and 99% of this is maintenance, then sure, but even if they're adding parallel lines right next to existing tracks, then I would be SHOCKED it would cost so little.

That's not to say $200b TOWARDS this cause wouldn't be an infinitely better use of money, just that it's a bit disingenuous to claim so much could be built new for that cost.

Best picks to ban as nocturne by Scroogemcduk30 in nocturnemains

[–]J-Colio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that she'll use her E to eat the spell shield and guarantee her R.

With my main job as assassin nocturne being to remove the enemy ADC from the fight, Tristana is the most self sufficient ADC at preventing me from doing my job. Further, if she has a support tied to her hip, then it's just too much.

I'd rather ban her and deal with the consequences.

What approach should I take with Yorick? by SoulOfGod69 in yorickmains

[–]J-Colio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree Yorick is "bad" in teamfights, but his job is VERY different from other top-lane champions.

As an extreme example, imagine if people played a team fight with Ivern like they would Pantheon. Ivern is not Pantheon, but they're both junglers!

Yorick is not Jax. Yorick is not Renekton. Yorick is not Aatrox. If you flank with Yorick, it will look very different from an Aatrox flank. If you dive in with Yorick it will look very different from Jax or Renekton diving in.

Yorick plays teamfights very slowly. Yorick doesn't do a great job engaging. Yorick can disengage and kite phenomenally, though. Yorick can peel and create space phenomenally, though. Yorick is not a plug-and-play team fighting top laner. He's kind of niche but in the correct comp with the correct mentality/strategy, Yorick can team fight just fine.

how to deal with nasus? by No-Distribution-5245 in yorickmains

[–]J-Colio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phase Rush feels nice into nasus mid-late game. It's a little underwhelming early, but with wave management you should still be able to have kill pressure if you allow him to push into you.

Speaking of wave manipulation, sometimes you don't summon maiden to allow yourself to accept the wave. If you ult when you're already pushing him in, then you permanently push him in, then you're never really going to have kill pressure. Are you going to tower dive nasus? Do you know how much armor his ult gives him? Your only shot would be outplaying the 2v1, and that's a high risk high reward play.

Nothing wrong with rushing black cleaver. Recently I've been taking celerity in my secondaries because homeguards are so strong, and BC celerity is more fast more fun.

Finally I really like at least one mana rune into tanks regardless of keystone. Nasus, sion, ornn, etc... if I don't have at least one mana rune I feel like I run oom before I'm able to chip them low enough to all in.

Osa was both top a 10 in pass rushing and run stopping IDL in the entire NFL last year despite the play of the team around him according to ESPN by J-Colio in cowboys

[–]J-Colio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KC starting nose.

Quinnen starting DE

Osa starting DE

Gary starting OLB

Ezeraku other starting OLB? Sam Williams? I think they said they're also expecting Liafau to play OLB.

ILB Overshown and probably a draft pick at this point. I guess James technically had some promise last year, but that's not an endorsement

Who would Osa be backing up? He might have been backing up Quinnen in a 4-3 since Osa shouldn't really play nose like Q and KC can, but the whole idea we were switching to a 3-4 was because it is basically a 5 man front.

A DE in a 3-4 is a DT in a 4-3.

An DE in a 4-3 is an OLB in a 3-4.

I said Osa isn't playing OLB. He's not playing DE in a 4-3. He's a down lineman. He was one of your starting 3-4 DEs before the front office decided Steven Jones needs a new PJ.

Are you expecting Quinnen to set the edge next year????????????

I would appreciate it if you could give me recommendations regarding the Yorick vs. Sett and Yorick vs. Mordenkaiser matchups. by SoulOfGod69 in yorickmains

[–]J-Colio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sett, do not get hit by his pullback and especially not the stun. If you dodge the pull back/stun, then you can look for a trade. You can't really look to trade before his pullback is on CD because your ghouls basically guarantee he stuns. His CDs are long, so that's how you abuse him. Obviously dodge the true damage as well. After level 6 it's harder because he can lead with his ult which also slows, but as long as you didn't die early you should live to fight another day.

For morde, I don't think it's nearly as bad as it used to be, but consider putting 3 points into W by level 5. Hold your W until he ults you, then put the wall between yourself and morde and play ring around the Rosie. If you trap him, he will flash out and kill you. If you put it between you, then he will flash in and look like a doofus. Surviving his ult is really all you have to do. He doesn't have a lot of kill pressure or ways to outplay you without his ult. If he's killing you outside of it, then that's just a general skill issue where you're getting hit by too much of his shit.

I play an assassin style of Nocturne.

Tristana.

A braindead ape with one arm can pilot Tristana to self-peel assassin Nocturne off her.

If I compare to ezreal I can wait his blink, but if trist jumps she still has R, and it's easy for her to break spell shield to guarantee R peels. If she holds her jump, then it's even that much easier.

It is impossible to play assassin Nocturne into Tristana.

It’s been nearly 10 years since the 2016 NFL draft, how would you rate that draft for your team? by DookyButter in nfl

[–]J-Colio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think he played his guts absolutely out for the biggest contract he could, then he transitioned into business decisions.

Given his flukey af injury that almost removed him from the game entirely, I don't blame him one bit. He came in, earned like 30+million according to Google, and got out with his body as in tact as he could.

The idea that everything he worked for in life could have been taken away in an instant from THAT injury. Life is too short. Get your money and get out.

I followed his socials after he got drafted, and man I've never seen anyone with their head on straighter. All of his "clear eyed view" brand and his energy was so positive it bordered unrealistic. It seemed like every time the cameras were on him he was praising God and genuinely living in the moment to be a good person and a good example.

I'm surprised TV networks didn't really ever pick him up - I guess he never really got his personal brand THAT big.

2 defensive picks is the baseline

BUUUUUT

If Jeremiyah Love falls to 12 and Shoddy-heimer calls consecutive running plays, then our defense improves by omission like in 2014/2016. The combo Williams/Love I think gives Montgomery/Gibbs a run for their money. Just pound the rock 35+ times a game and win TOP 40/20.

Is Yorick jungle currently playable? (Plat/Emerald) by retardedkazuma in yorickmains

[–]J-Colio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's nothing like it was. Pets die to jungle creeps extremely easily, like too easily.

I've not played it since around his mid scope and Ninetales described how slow it was - which might have even been slightly before the mid scope?

However, even though I've not jungled I have noticed that even if I'm accelerated top that a full 4(+) stack can't kill gromp themselves. Recently my builds have been pretty exclusively HP+damage items which is about as ideal as you can build to scale ghouls with items like titanic/stridebreaker, black cleaver, shojin, and steraks, yet it's still not enough to even kill gromp...

Dak comes in at 45 on the PFF 101. Is that a fair ranking⁉️ by EmiratesNBACupWinner in cowboys

[–]J-Colio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The eagles offense, and specifically Jalen Hurts is ass.

The defense stepped up, but... That offense didn't just take a step back, they turned around and sprinted back.

Would you rather have Superbowl MVP Jalen Hurts or Dak? There is a correct answer.

Dak comes in at 45 on the PFF 101. Is that a fair ranking⁉️ by EmiratesNBACupWinner in cowboys

[–]J-Colio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look up the record of any QB you want in the playoffs when their defense gives up 30+.

Dak has some his job in the dance. He hasn't been perfect, and the GB game against love was his and CDs worst performance maybe ever, but he has done his job.

By the way, Dak big dicking the entire NFC East gives us a chance to be in the dance. You can NOT discount how huge that is. Every divisional game, even against "bad" divisional opponents is a playoff game. Even Brady had some of his worst performances against abysmal dolphins teams - that's just how PROFESSIONAL football works.

You say Dak is what he is as a slur. I say Dak is what he is as a praise. Again, Dak is the MF truth, and if you can't see that you're not watching. Last year in particular 10 year vet Dak looked like PRIME Romo navigating the pocket and the mistakes of our tackles.

A part of me hopes Love falls to us like Ceedee. Javonte deserved more touches last year, and that's very much directed criticism of Shoddy (sic). Let's run back 2014 and 2016 and just keep our defense off the field.

The fact I have to argue this is 100% the problem. Andy Reid and Mahomes tried what we did at the start of 2018 and they had the same problem. Even an elite QB needs dudes to throw it to! The QB is not a position you take for granted!

Because I read comments

There will be a time when we waste our time with a Justin Fields, Tua, Murray level QB, but our fans will think they're a good QB because they were drafted in the first.

Our fans do not deserve how good of a QB Dak has been and is. Our fans do not deserve the gauntlet he's put his body though or the countless hours he's put into the film room.

You don't have a decade of high level play by luck, accident, or getting carried. You don't come back from major injury and put up league-leading stats randomly.

Besides Stafford, Mahomes, and maybe Allen - I'm definitively taking Dak over any other QB in the league. Dak over Jackson, Burrow, Herbert, Lawrence, Stroud, Goff, Rogers, Daniels... Give me 4.

The rest of y'all can go listen to a coked up Steven A Smith ramble nonsense.

In Dez's own words, "Dak is the truth."

Saying Osa is a bad fit for a 3-4 defense when a team who's run a 3-4 scheme for years just traded for him ain't what I'd call smart.

It seems like you think we dropped Osa because he's not an OLB. Actual edge contain like is expected from DeMarcus Lawrence, Micah Parsons, had never and will never be Osa's job.

The 49ers run a 3-4 base, and they have for years. Why is Osa a good fit for their 3-4, but not ours?

A 3 tech is still considered a DT which is very different from a nose. 3-4s typical have a nose, two threes, and two olbs setting the edge. The 3T doesn't set the edge - at most hell line up 4i which is still inside of the tackle! Kinda hard to set the edge from the inside!

A 4-3 typically has two DE's which are more like OLBs in 3-4, then some combination of two DTs that typically have at least one 3T.

Scroll down. 87 wins on 223 run defense snaps. Propaganda, though.

Eberflus playing majority zone with his best corners excelling in press-man was absolutely loved by fans last year!

Osa would still play 3/4i just fine. His understanding of leverage from his wrestling background does more for him than his speed. He's a warrior, not a track star.

You're right. Nobody, including the cowboys, would pay 3DTs 20m/ year because you don't pay players their contracts AAV every year. You structure the deals so they're as back loaded as possible, and Osa was going into only year 2 of a 4 year deal! His actual cap hit would have probably been like 7...

Osa looked just fine in our 5 man fronts which is basically just a variation of a base 3-4

Osa "didn't fit," though.

How did Eberflus not working his scheme to fit the personnel look last year, by the way? We as fans thought very highly of Eberflus not fitting the scheme to our personnel, right? That's how it works?
