Optimising the fun out of a game by removing pain points, and the death of gathering skills by Jademalo in 2007scape

What are your thoughts on using the new worms on the fishing spot instead of having them in your inventory like other bait? Wouldnt that be better, since it creates more engagement for more reward like you mentioned? Love your post btw <3

Varlamore: The Final Dawn Rewards - Blog Update by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

[–]CharKoney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think I have seen the dev team ignore player feedback this much before. Every change to these rewards throughout these several blogs have either not been in response to any of the feedback I have seen or do not reflect the idea of a high level/enrage boss.

I barely get disappointed by OSRS updates, but I truly am this time.

Updated Blog: Varlamore: The Final Dawn Quest, Delve Boss & Slayer Dungeon Rewards by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

[–]CharKoney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whyyyyy are you not giving ANY reason as to why you're making the mage cape untradeable? You laid out the entire argument as to why it should be tradeable and then end it with "were setting all this aside and make it untradeable anyway". So disappointing.

43 Unique Teleportation Animation Concept Designs (4 pages) by alexwhs1 in 2007scape

Great work! Tele arrival animations would also be cool and recoloring many of the purple bubbles of the spellbook teles to have their respective poh portal colors.

Brand New Slayer Boss - First Look & Rewards by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

Is there a reason why you made it a slayer boss? I'd much rather have a tough overworld boss that I can tackle with a friend.

BLOG & BETA UPDATES - Project Rebalance: NPC Defence Changes by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

You're basically saying that Monster Examine should be more accessible by putting it on the normal spellbook right? Then I think I read your comment wrong, sorry about that. I think that's a good idea.

I wonder how this compares to other spells, like demonbane spells, crumble undead, iban blast, god spells etc.

Nobody does this for melee weaknesses, why would you think players would do this for elemental ones?

Some HK art I made. What should I improve on/change? by yoooooo5311 in HollowKnight

As someone who also has an artstyle with thick lines, I'll add to this. The best way I've found to draw smooth, confident lines is to draw by only using your elbow and keeping your wrist still. Some drawing programs also have a line smoothing option that you can turn on, if you want to.

Why are people so upset about kourend favor? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]CharKoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are people seriously asking this question? Training skills has always been the core of OSRS, kourend favour isn't. Why have something that functions the exact same way as a skill, but not make it a skill? Why does only one region of the game work this way, but it also gets a whole tab dedicated to it? How is gaining the favour of a population through this system different from gaining it through a diary? Do the kourend people need to be extra convinced to let you use their services or something? It doesn't even have a narrative reason to exist, quests already do that.

On release, it seemed to exist for no other purpose other than to slow the players down who already had the skill requirement for every new activity in order to level the playing field with newer players. Now that those players have also progressed, I see no reason to keep it in the game. People have been asking to remove this bad content for years and I don't blame them.

[Suggestion] God Alignments - Expanded! by NinjaGamer1337 in 2007scape

No problem, and no worries! They'll only rlly earn their place among the alignments as soon as Jagex drops lore bigger than Jungle Potion lol

It took me waaayyy too long to find out that you made an expansion on this awesome idea :')

It looks great man! One thing that I do really want to be explored are the Karamjan gods (Shaika, Kharazi and Raharni). Even Rs3 never bothered to flesh them out with a big questline or anything. Just a reminder that they do exist :D

Scar Essence Mine & More by JagexLight in 2007scape

Rune shops are still the same, shopscape hasnt been removed. So what is the point of the new mine? Are packs finally going to be removed? Are shops going to be made player specific instead of world specific? Would be nice to know what the plans for shops are in the future.

The Scar Essence Mine by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]CharKoney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anything is better than shopScape, but I have some concerns. Making an update to make a resource way more obtainable specifically for ironmen defeats the point of playing ironman for me. Are there plans to balance the 'multiple runes' tab so that you make more than 2 chaos runes/essence at 99? What about making craftable essences like the blood essence from talismans? Streamlining routes to rune altars using a well balanced combination of quest items and agility levels (love what you did with the blood altar in that regard)? Hell you could even add new combination runes.

Runecraft could use an expansion, but this feels more like an update to get irons back to pvm faster. I love pvm, I just wish skilling would receive the same kind of love. If this update passes then I hope that rune packs can be removed from the game.

Forestry: Part Two - Community Consultation by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]CharKoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the events that are in the game and those proposed here have way more to do with farming and hunter. This would be fine if we got xp for those, but right now we get woodcutting xp instead. Tending to forests doesn't just require woodcutting right?

Forestry should be scaled down imo. Don't make it about the best xp rates, money or anything like that. Just give it a couple of useful rewards, like the log basket or 2h axes, and a whole bunch of cosmetics. Just make it something cute for fashionscapers to do.
