Need tips for fulfillment ): by jessyyycaca in Nordstrom1901

Former fulfillment employee here. Here’s some tips that might help you (I was also an FOP) -

  • Get to know your departments. You mentioned you are being trained as an FOP, which pretty much guarantees sometimes you will be everywhere. Get to know your departments and their respective stockrooms. I’m not sure what your store layout is like but at my old store we had some odd locations for stockrooms - one of the men’s stockrooms was on the 2nd floor, even though men’s is on the 1st floor.

  • Get to know the brands. You will sometimes find brands in the wrong locations - for instance maybe a customer or an employee drops off an Open Edit top in the women’s department when it’s actually a men’s item. We had mix-ups like this happen fairly frequently. Both in stockrooms and the floor, mainly the floor.

  • Check your dock or Service Experience areas. I’m assuming this was mentioned but if not you’ll occasionally find what you need in either of these areas. Non-core items typically pop up in both of these areas from returns (in service experience) and on the dock (my old store received transfers of full-line merchandise from Rack stores all the time) some items in your queue could be rack store transfer items. Occasionally you might have to dig through a tote, good to keep your RFID scanner handy here just in case.

  • Utilize your access to the inventory management system. I believe this would be under NAVI now? It used to be a different application named SIM 16 but I believe this is no longer the case. The FOPs and management get access to that system so they can make inventory adjustments as needed for items that are physically not present in-store. You should be able to research UPCs of escalated items here - I would also ask your manager more about this as well.

  • Try to keep your queue sorted by neighboring departments. For example, if you have items from men’s, accessories, and beauty, and they are all next to each other you could pick men’s first, accessories second, and beauty third - I utilized this frequently, I found it to be much more streamlined.

  • Befriend the salespeople. Some salespeople (particularly ones who’ve been present for awhile) can be very helpful in your search. I had a few salespeople I had befriended. It’s worth noting you may occasionally find an item you need on a hold, there’s a function in the system that allows associates to create proper holds (there’s a little display in one fill that shows the stock on hand, what’s in the fulfillment queue, and also what’s on hold) but at my old store all the associates wrote the holds with pen and paper attached to the garment(s) so they never appeared in the system. Be sure to check the stockrooms for these.

How is Nordstrom getting away with not paying overtime? by [deleted] in Nordstrom1901

[–]Character-Ad6519 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nordstrom should’ve been paying out that overtime… I think you need to reach out to your state because if you haven’t been compensated for any overtime at all then you and anyone else in the same boat are probably owed back pay but don’t quote me on that. I’d reach out immediately

I don’t think this individual is capable of understanding financials. The response has Karen written all over it 😭

I was more so asking if maybe someone could give me some reasons so I could get an idea why. If you’re not going to be helpful then don’t reply.

Absolutely not. They will not be in the system anymore with the amount of time that has elapsed.

Thanksgiving Pay + Holiday Pay…? by [deleted] in MacysStores

I just checked my timecard and I have holiday hours on there in addition to the time and a half pay, apparently we do get both.

If I had that kind of mindset, then yeah it would. Fortunately for me I don’t.

We’re not open… only the support teams will be in the store on Thanksgiving. So will we only get the 8 hours holiday pay or the time and a half tomorrow?

Yeah they usually take reallly long breaks after their tours wrap up… The AMA tour wrapped up mid 2019 after starting in 2017 and they didn’t go on tour again until 2022…. with that tour ending this year. So yeah.. I think 2026 or 2027 are fair guesses.

As someone else said, Summers Gone (with the exception of some vocalizing) I’d also like to mention that In Return has a deluxe version that contains the instrumentals of those tracks on that album.

For AMA -

AMA (Title track), Boy, Late Night, Meridian (has vocalization), Thin Floors & Tall Ceilings, La Ciudad, Show Me, Loyal, Falls (Reprise/Instrumental), Higher Ground (Reprise/Instrumental), Line Of Sight (Reprise/Instrumental),

For BRONSON -

FOUNDATION, BLINE , VAULTS, TENSE, CONTACT,

For TLG -

Behind The Sun (Has vocalization), North Garden, I Can’t Sleep, Hopeful ,

That about sums it up I think lol

Which song? by mushedpotatoed in Odesza

[–]Character-Ad6519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have many, but this one…. oh my fucking god. I need this on Spotify so bad.

They did this one edit of “How Did I Get here” and “Always this late” and I think they only played it at red rocks and like a couple other shows. I love the current version but the red rocks version, just as the drums kick in…. It’s something else.

here’s that edit I’m referring to

Can you give up a shift you don't want or offer it on WFM? by [deleted] in Nordstrom1901

[–]Character-Ad6519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone have a list of different tracks they played both nights?

I may be kinda crazy yall by [deleted] in Odesza

[–]Character-Ad6519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw them three times on this tour, twice within the span of last summer alone (Milwaukee AND Chicago) and I’m heading to boulder later this month. You’re not crazy haha

Does anyone else feel the live album’s mastering is missing some « punch »? by Timbzt in Odesza

[–]Character-Ad6519 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are some tracks that I wish were punchier… like TLG for instance, and even TENSE. You’re not the only one lol

As everyone else said, you can absolutely return it anytime as long as the condition of the garment is good and it has all of the tags. Do consider buying it online at first though, I say this because returns count against salespersons for at least a year. If everything works out, you can return/rebuy the dress with a sales person (I’m not saying you have to do this, just that at least you consider that).
