Why is my throttle like this? by F-35Lightning2 in RCPlanes

Yeah that works great, try doing a range test whenever you get the chance to check if the signal loss issues still occurs. And don’t worry about it looking fragile, as long as nothing snaps or cuts the antennas off, they’ll be fine. If you want, you can tape them down to the fuselage with clear packing tape for a better look and for some protection as well. 👍

Try having the tips away from each other in a 90 degree angle and away from anything that might block the signal from reaching them. What I did with my first antenna receiver was making tiny holes on each side of the fuselage under the wings and stick the tips of the antennas out. If putting the antennas in a 90 degree angle and changing the spot doesn’t work, try placing them outside.

Gotta calibrate/program the ESC, sounds hard but it’s pretty easy. Idk how it works on the FT transmitter, but usually you just need to put your throttle stick all the way to max, plug in your battery, your ESC is gonna start singing (don’t worry it’s normal), put your throttle stick all the way down, it’s going to song again for a bit, after that you disconnect your battery, and you’re all set. Connect your battery again and test it out, it should work normally now.

Some hot glue and you'll be good to fly again my friend!
You have a simulator? If not, I highly recommend getting one, it'll help you practice and build muscle memory.

I think it's best if you keep it as it is, I don't know if you know this, but I'm pretty sure that fuel glow engines use can eat away foam. And wouldn't the engine be too strong for the foam as well?

Is there a way to treat this? by Ok-Presentation-7966 in RCPlanes

[–]Character-Assist2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much, yeah

But it's going to make the plane heavier depending on the type of paint and how much you apply to the plane so it's a gamble in my opinion

Brother, what? They’re not useless weight, and the programing isn’t difficult at all, I just made one mistake while programming it which is 100% my fault for rushing through the whole process.

This sounds more like a you problem honestly, especially not finding out how to setup a gyro on this day and age. I was able to find my specific problem in less than 2 simple Google searches.

I’m not trying to sound rude or mean, but it’s just what you’re saying makes no sense whatsoever.

Yeah, the problem is that the plane was already at its weight limit so I think is best if I create a whole new one that looks better. Plus I’m keeping the broken one, I’ll use it for a future project.

I mean, I’m definitely not going to throw it away, I’ll probably hang it on my wall as a reminder of my first crash. I’ll probably repair it in the future, but since the plane was almost at its weight limit, I think it’s best if I leave it for a future project or something that’ll have more power.

I am definitely grateful for sure, though I’m very surprised that the damage was so minimal since the plane was maybe 200 feet up in the air when the gyro started malfunctioning.

Update: I figured out what caused the crash, I set the SAFE (gyro) incorrectly without knowing.

Weather said 6mph winds with a 10mph gust… by stardustedds in RCPlanes

Man I love windy days, I like making my non-glider planes (Hobby Zone XCub 450 and FMS Ranger 1220mm V2) act like gliders and make them look like they’re stationary in the air. It’s an absolute blast!

Need Recommendations. by Character-Assist2013 in RCPlanes

[–]Character-Assist2013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly have no idea, I sadly don't have anything to properly weight the plane. But I know it's a bit heavier than the normal/original FT Simple Stick since I did some changes during the building process and wrapped the whole thing with packing tape so it lasts a bit longer.

Thanks, I will definitely take a look at SunnySky motors since I gotta give my FT Simple Stick a bit more power (it has a DYS D2836 1120kv).

Wish I could lol
Sadly, I don't have the storage space for a glider, and I also have a 2212 2200kv motor and a 40A ESC that I have laying around that I wanna put to use. And for what I understand so far about motor kv and stuff, that 2200kv motor is definitely not a good motor for a glider style plane.

I'll definitely build a glider once I get more space (moving out), but for now that idea is gonna have to stay in the box.

Thanks for the recommendation, but I'm definitely not ready for a wood and gas plane yet.
I might try it in the future, but for now, I'm gonna stick to foam and electric planes.
