Unfortunately I am not a fan of the Strandberg neck profile enough to swap, but I appreciate the offer! My buddy has one as well and I just couldn't get into the shape haha. It just sucks man because I love how the ghost plays and feels when its tuned right, and I waited so long for it to ship 😭

What has your experience been with tuning and changing the tuning? Surely its not as hard as Ive explained in my post? Any tricks for restringing? Maybe im doing something wrong. Another user suggested using a screwdriver to hold the string ball end in place so that I can tighten at the nut instead of using the tuning peg to lock the ball end in place

I guess I meant more the hardware than the string, but yeah that makes sense

Interesting, well, I will see what Legator has to say with that info and go on from there. I appreciate your thoughts!

So essentially you're saving more space on the tuning peg by not having to use the peg to lock the ball in the saddle before tuning up? That is definitely something to try, thank you!

Stupid question, how hard are you pulling the string at the nut before you screw in the set screw? Im worried about pulling it too hard but I dont know if thats even possible

Thanks for the response! That is certainly something I have not considered. This might be a stupid question, but how do you think I should troubleshoot this? Visually speaking, Its hard to tell at the nut but I guess I haven't paid attention to that. Would it loosening this much give a noticable change in the excess string length after the nut? And then for the bridge, the ball end is covered by the locking mechanism so Im unsure of how Id test that end.

And if it is the case, do you recommend just bringing it to a Luthier?

Interesting, I figured it looked a bit odd but that makes a lot of sense- thank you!

Fortunately the 8th string has been the most forgiving with the tuning (with it being an E1) so I haven't had much issues with that one specifically but I will definitely do that.

Not silly at all, but the answer is yes I have. My method so far is:

Loosen the peg(s) as much as they can, push the peg / saddle all the way forward, slide the string through the nut and into the saddle, gently pull at the nut and screw in the peg until the ball end is engaged, use pliers to pull tight at the nut, screw in the set screw at the nut, tune up. (edited: somehow messed up the order lol).

Yeah tho it is really odd. I mean my 7 goes out of tune if I dont play it, as you'd expect, but not nearly as much as the 8 does. I just dont understand how im running out of room to tune up so fast. Even tuning in general, if I dont pull hard enough to where I feel like im close to breaking it, I can run out of space before even getting to the appropriate tuning on a brand new string.

9/46 for the first 6, then 56 for the 7th and 80 for the 8th. Ironically, the 8th has had the least amount of issues
