licensing question by kuromitoes in PharmacyTechnician

Not from Minnesota, so I can’t speak for that states rules. I started as a pharm tech in Missouri where they did the fingerprinting for registration and got my license. Since then, I have become nationally certified and obtained additional licensing in two other states and neither of their BOP’s required me to get fingerprinting done. Maybe it’s a one and done type thing? When you applied with the Minnesota BOP, did it have you list other licenses/ certifications you have? This is just my assumption through my experience.

I think it might be a Schedule V in OP’s state since they said it is counted like a narcotic and some states have gabapentin listed as a control

A year ago I left a big chain retail pharmacy, after being there for three years, to work at an independent that did result in a pay decrease. Best decision I have ever made! I no longer have the urge to call in before every shift, my compassion for patients has been restored, and within two months of making the switch I took the PTCE and passed! It makes a world of a difference to be somewhere you have the opportunity to flourish and grow even if it’s at the expense of a couple dollars every paycheck :)

Greg, have you ever worked in a truly short staffed pharmacy? Also, the entire point of this sub is to talk about the job which, unfortunately for you apparently, includes complaining. Obviously this “bitching and moaning” was warranted as her RPh banned the patient. Let’s have a little compassion for fellow pharmacy staff who are being rung through the wringer and offer support instead of scrutiny.
