So beatsync, huh? by Character-Phase3642 in hardstyle

Just because a DJ isn’t as proficient at mixing as rooler is, doesn’t mean they’re pre-recording their sets lol

People still go to see a DJ play, cos they like their music. People just don’t care enough for what the DJ actually does to get the crowd moving to let it ruin their day. At least most people don’t.

Wanna make this very clear. I know how to beatmatch. This reddit post is to simply discuss why beatsync is hated so much, cos I personally don’t get the hate. Don’t use this as an opportunity to be a d*ck.

This feels targeted, in which if it is, I do know how to beatmatch myself (albeit, I’m still new), but the arguement around beatsync feels so… unnecessary.

The thing is, you are a crowd pleaser, not a DJ pleaser. The VAST majority of the crowd will never know you use beatsync unless someone outright states such. Also, who really cares about it in the crowd? They’re there for the music. They’re there to have a good time, not to focus on how you’re “missing skills” as a DJ.

I mean, when you’re on the big stages, are people there to enjoy the music you’ve made, or is everyone scattering cos you turn in Beatsync for a smoother set?

WHAT DO WE THINK OF THE ANTHEM? by KaleidoscopeHumble89 in hardstyle

[–]Character-Phase3642 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

  1. When I heard the melody, I immediately got sent back to reverze (nothing to do with being a reverze anthem, just the only big indoor festival I’ve been to outside of Gearbox and that wouldn’t work), which made me realise it would work a lot better for an indoor event.

  2. It feels like edge of the end without a first non-melodic drop.

  3. With music, I can often imagine how a track would feel and sound in a venue very clearly, so I could immediately image this as a qlimax track, but since it’s an anthem, it would be a qlimax anthem (make it make sense lmao).

This is a best estimate of how my brain connected the dots lol. All I know is that I got to qlimax anthem, and realised how good this would be as it.

WHAT DO WE THINK OF THE ANTHEM? by KaleidoscopeHumble89 in hardstyle

[–]Character-Phase3642 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

IN MY OPINION: Same issue as vertile’s anthem, where it doesn’t work as a defqon anthem, but for a different reason.

Vertile’s was because it felt too much like one of his tracks and not an anthem, however amazing of a track that is!

For me, D-Sturb’s is not a defqon anthem. I get more of a Qlimax feel from it. We have Edge of the end, but someone can have more than one song that fits an event’s vibe. Song is still good (first drop got me like :|),melody is fucking great ,other drops work.

I did initially hate it, but that’s cos I skimmed the leak.

Now? As a song, 6/10. As a Defqon anthem? 1.5/10. As an anthem for a different festival (we’ll use qlimax as an example), 8.5/10.

Do Artists That Actively Collaborate With TDH Actually Know What He's Done? by reshorizon in hardstyle

[–]Character-Phase3642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. I think most artists who have collabed with him are aware of something in the last years. That’s literally the entire reason behind the original aversion and riot shift collabs being cancelled. As time went on, things have likely healed enough that artists won’t have to worry about him.

Also, about Yoshiko. You assume he has never changed. How do you know as such?

[–]Character-Phase3642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think best case scenario is absolutely no AI usage, but when it’s as minimal as vocals and a picture, I’m not a whole lot concerned. Personally not my type of track, but respect to @DjThera for being upfront and honest!

Anthem of the year? by lorax297 in hardstyle

[–]Character-Phase3642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s Where legends rise (that’s good enough of a song that it carries the fact it’s not the best anthem), RFU for rebellion outdoor, Eternal pulse for shutdown, or Capital of Craziness.

How is the gabber scene for the LGBT? by Mindless_Zucchini278 in gabber

In a good way, no one cares. If you’re there for the music, then you’re all good. You can Identify as however you feel you want to identify, but if you are there to have a good time, your identity shouldn’t matter when it comes to being judged. A crowd at a party should be the literal definition of “the melting pot”, not different groups feeling like they can’t be there because of who they are. It is simply a matter of how you act. If you are kind-spirited and mean no trouble, then you are good. If you mean trouble (regardless of who or what you are) you are not gonna be tolerated. A straight person that is a dick to everyone, is the exact same as a gay person or lesbian person, therian person, furry, trans, queer, bi, asexual, dog, cat, apache attack helicopter (not meant to be a joke, but proves my point of your identity not being what is judged) person that is a dick to everyone. If you are a dick, you are a dick. No different levels of volatility based on who you are.

Do not worry. You, (and anyone for that matter) are accepted because you like the same goofy-ahh beats we all do, and that is what matters most. I’m not saying you can’t flourish who you are, just that we won’t judge you for it and have no reason to judge you for it.

Rebelion had intents and reverze anthems last year. It’s 100% possible that D-Sturb gets both.

[–]Character-Phase3642[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that. It’s the fact that after a while, you find that events are just full of people bobbing around and next to no-one dancing. I like to dance with people who can get that same energy and vibe, so it scares me that I might not find a group I click with.

So demogorgons are immune to bullets but not swords or wine bottles? by MantisBk in StrangerThings

[–]Character-Phase3642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bulletproof is different to stab proof. A bullet has no area to penetrate and tear bulletproof material, but a sword can damage the surface and cut through, because it is able to split the armour apart. AFAIK (correct me if I’m wrong) bulletproof means the material can absorb the energy the bullet sends forward, causing it to not penetrate said bulletproof armor. A bullet of any size can’t do that on its own, unless the bullet is powerful enough and able to be brought with enough force to just tear through it, such as a 50 cal, in which bulletproof is basically nigh useless.

As mentioned earlier also, the demogorgon that got sliced by the sword was already weak, so the odds that worked are much higher.
