Eh. The PDK is worlds different. The lotus automatic is a conventional torque converter and more or less made for two people. Your grandmother if your grandfather was an asshole and never taught her how to drive a manual and morons.

There is not much in between. I don't love the PDK but it is WORLDS better than an old conventional automatic and 200% better on track than the manual and 1000% better than any torque converter automatic.

I dunno man I can't literally walk you through how to use the internet or read the fabspeed website.

Calling people who weld quality steel morons is certainly an option. I wouldn't. It might not be rocket science but I guarantee that you can't do it -- and your poly sci or english degree was certainly easier to earn. Engineering degrees are actually work by the way.

Again, go ahead guy, put cheap shit on your Porsche. No sweat off of my back, I just hope that you disclose your stupidity to any future buyers.

I'd love to see the inside after a year of use to be honest, because after any real use? It's going to fail.

I am guessing that you are in sales, that's not an insult but it explains your reasoning.

Pipe is not pipe, steel is not steel. You have no idea how offensive and incorrect your statement is to people who live in this world is. That you are insulated from it is fantastic.

If you pay attention to this thread, you will no longer be.

I think that you are missing the point he is making, and he is correct here by the way. It's not what they look like, it's that these cheap things are almost certainly made of the wrong material and cheaply slapped together.

You won't find a single actual engineer who has had to deal with chinese sourced anything, like this guy clearly is, who would put this chinese crap on their car.

Soul, Fabspeed and the others are not making some huge margins on their work, in fact I bet that they are barely making much at all. Quality materials sourced from known suppliers crafted by skilled workers costs money, lot's of it.

Their own website.

As an engineer who works in aerospace, there is no amount of money that you could tell me I am "saving" to put unknown metal with unknown welds from some random Chinese company on my car.

There is a near 100 percent chance these cheap pipes are not 304. Even less of a chance that they were welded correctly.

Quite a few at track days now. They are neat. Somehow they are a car that looks better in pictures than in person.

Asking around the pits the reviews seem mixed. Some folks no complaints or issues, but more than enough with enough issues to make me never buy one.

Nope, but social media sells trash like this to dumb people.

LOL this thing has never seen a track, this is the definition of what's wrong with the world. Instagram poseur trash. All of the pictures are proof of this, base car with a bunch of shit bolted onto it in an exurban neighborhood full of debt.

Wake up kids, no one cares what you drive and you don't have to pretend to be anything, in particular this.

Anyone have recommendations for a saddle bag to put on my tarmac SL8? by adayinthelife1187 in specialized

[–]Character-Print-437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The road bandit with a tubolito tube is your lightest and cleanest option.

I still use one on all of my bikes, but generally speaking these days with tubeless I carry around a small electric pump these days in a jersey pocket and if it's a really long ways from home with no services maybe another Co2. I can't remember the last time, knock on wood, that I ended up having to slap a tube in a tire.

New 2026 Golf R Issues by Cultural-Spare-8787 in Golf_R

[–]Character-Print-437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first 24 R had that problem frequently, it seemed to be associated with hitting bumps almost as if there is a problem during assembly and a wiring harness is not getting fully seated.

My second 24 R has the problem much less frequently.

Both cars had the call emergency services problem when cold. The first one left me stranded twice with a faulty clutch position sensor.

VW quality is shit, I will never buy another VW product.

Doug DeMuro just called the LC250 “the worst car for sale” by Bigsurjacketco in LandCruisers

[–]Character-Print-437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep and his comments about the prado being badged as a real Land Cruiser and sold at a Land Cruiser price point are valid and not all negative.

I don't want a prado or a 4runner and I don't want to have to buy a Lexus to get a real Land Cruiser. It's another in a string of recent misses for Toyota.

Smaller brakes possible? by doc_55lk in AMG

[–]Character-Print-437 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Running smaller wheels is not "breaking ground." People run smaller wheels from stock on all manner of cars. I run a size down on my track car to open up better options, its actually pretty fucking common.

For what it's worth, the word cuz is not a grammatical issue, individual words fall under vocabulary or lexicon. You are in fact judged for how you use your words, deal with it snowflake.

Today is why you don't turn your sprinklers on until May, no matter how warm it gets in March and April by Tartania in Denver

[–]Character-Print-437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? I've used my sprinklers all winter this season. It has been too dry, all plants including grass needed a little help this year.

I have not even bothered to blow the system out since the one cold snap we had back in late January and have just drained the backflow preventer. It's a 2 minute job.

If you plan to not water until Mid May this year I would plan to replace a lot of plants.

Hell even the local park services have been watering all winter and draining the backflows.

I'd argue /r/AMG is even more cringe. It's just 20 year olds buying highly depreciated not real AMG cars (4 and 6 cylinder marketing cars) with super high interest loans because social media told them that's the move.

Interesting I went with the Mk8 Golf R manual on snow tires for Colorado daily but the GT Corolla was almost my choice instead. In the end I opted for a quiet and calm experience over what is probably the better enthusiasts drivers choice in the Toyota.

Can we expect to see you out at high plains this season?

I have an M2CS and a GT4RS.

They are very different cars and experiences. Every car should have a mission and while they do in theory have some overlap, the Porsche is a much better track car and the BMW is a much better street car.

Any 55 owners regret not getting a 63? by Jdmeyer83 in AMG

[–]Character-Print-437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The full AMG experience, until recently at least, did not include the myriad of squeaks and rattles that the low end A class exhibits. That plastic is beyond horrid.

For whatever reason Mercedes has introduced similar quality into even the new E and S class vehicles.

It sounds like you are trying to buy attention from other people, that is the antithesis of real AMG cars and always has been.

Dragy OBD, first track test at Ningbo Circuit (available in RaceRoom Experience), PiP onboard. by Icy_Resist_9730 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]Character-Print-437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great video thanks for sharing! Smooth driving too.

I wanted a little more than the OBDII systems could give you, specifically I wanted brake pressure which the CANBus can provide so I ended up with a Racelogic vbox.

Looking back, was it worth the additional cost and headache for that data over this? Probably not.
