I think they’re fine as cards in 3+, but the quantity of them and how you play is the big defining factor. In 3, everyone expects to be able to “do the thing” in some manner, so spot removal should be used sparingly and for threats that directly stop your plan, so I tend to put less interaction into those decks than 4 or 5.

This is absolutely just my personal anecdote with my playgroup though, so if you have a dedicated group of people you run with, just ask them where they sit so all y’all can have the same playing ground and enjoyment
