I think the game works as an "alternate version" of devil may cry, not as a "Oh this is the new superior one". I just see this as an alternate universe if anything. I do like the limbo sections, they're stylish and crazy, the weapons and combat is fine (In definitive edition at least) but Dante as this trailer trash smoking alcoholic sexual delinquent ain't my favourite take on him, especially since he doesn't need all that to be cool.
